NFL ratings plunge could spell doom for traditional TV

Boycott NFL #boycottNFL

By Drew Harwell October 14 at 6:33 PM

Football, America’s biggest prime-time powerhouse, has been thrust into a crisis this fall, with dwindling ratings sparking questions over whether it can remain a gold mine for television in an age when more Americans are abandoning traditional TV.

Network executives have long used the National Football League’s live games as a last line of defense against the rapid growth of “cord-cutting” and on-demand viewing upending the industry.

But now, the NFL is seeing its ratings tumble in the same way that the Olympics, awards shows and other live events have, falling more than 10 percent for the first five weeks of the season compared with the first five weeks of last season. A continued slide, executives say, could pose an even bigger danger: If football can’t survive the new age of TV, what can?

Catholic bishop blasts Clinton over emails, ‘scheming, robotic liar’

Mt_Carmel_Church_theridgewoodblog

By PAUL BEDARD (@SECRETSBEDARD) • 10/13/16 4:04 PM

Outraged by the anti-Catholic bigotry displayed in leaked Team Clinton emails this week, the powerful Philadelphia bishop blasted bothPresident Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton for their efforts to undermine church teachings.

In his weekly column for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, Archbishop Charles Chaput Thursday demanded that Clinton repudiate the emails — then added that he doesn’t expect her to.

Mocking the theme in the emails that Catholics are backward thinking for views on abortion, marriage and other core issues, Chaput wrote, “Of course it would be wonderful for the Clinton campaign to repudiate the content of these ugly WikiLeaks emails. All of us backward-thinking Catholics who actually believe what Scripture and the Church teach would be so very grateful.”

He described Clinton as “a scheming, robotic liar with a lifelong appetite for power and an entourage riddled with anti-Catholic bigots.”

WikiLeaks: Podesta Asks Clinton’s Lawyer, ‘Think We Should Hold Emails To and From (Obama)?’

Clinton’s former chief of staff Cheryl Mills

By Susan Jones | October 14, 2016 | 12:02 PM EDT

(CNSNews.com) – In a March 4, 2015 email to Hillary Clinton’s lawyer Cheryl Mills, Clinton’s eventual campaign chairman John Podesta asks if they should withhold email exchanges between Clinton and President Obama that were sent over Clinton’s private server.

The day before Podesta sent his email to Mills, the House Benghazi Committee privately told Clinton to preserve and hand over all her emails. (The FBI report on Clinton’s emails notes on Page 18 that on March 3, 2015, the United States House Select Committee on Benghazi provided a letter to the law firm Williams & Connolly requesting the preservation and production of all documents and media related to the email addresses [email protected] and [email protected].)

The email from Podesta to Mills, titled “Special Category,” reads: “Think we should hold emails to and from potus? That’s the heart of his exec privilege. We could get them to ask for that. They may not care, but I(t) seems like they will.”

Mills did not respond by email. The Clinton-Obama emails were turned over to the State Department, which later announced it would not release them.

At the Jan. 29, 2016 State Department briefing, spokesman John Kirby told reporters:

“As the White House has previously stated, Secretary Clinton and the President did on occasion exchange emails. As they have also said previously, such presidential records shall remain confidential to protect the President’s ability to receive unvarnished advice and counsel but will ultimately be released in accordance with the Presidential Records Act.

Ridgewood Nj, According to Rassmussen ,at the close of a week that began with him trailing by seven points, Donald Trump still holds a slight lead over Hillary Clinton in today’s White House Watch survey despite a flurry of news reports alleging a history of sexual harassment on his part.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey of Likely U.S. Voters shows Trump with 43% support to Clinton’s 41%. That’s unchanged from yesterday. Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson picks up six percent (6%) of vote, and Green Party nominee Jill Stein has two percent (2%) backing. Four percent (4%) like another candidate, and five percent (5%) are undecided.

Wikileaks emails REVEALS Hillary campaign pushing Muslim Obama narrative!

obama-muslim

OCT. 13, 2016 4:14 PM BY THE RIGHT SCOOP

A new leaked email exchange by Wikileaks shows that the Hillary campaign was pushing the Muslim Obama narrative back in 2008.

The email exchange was between John Podesta, Paul Begala, and Hillary pollster GQRR back in January of 2008.

One of the statements on the survey of Obama ‘negative facts’ was this one:

* 7 Obama (owe-BAHM-uh)’s father was a Muslim and Obama grew up among Muslims in the world’s most populous Islamic country.

So Hillary thought that Obama growing up around Muslims in an Islamic country was a negative fact? Wow. I guess when you are running for president, liberal tolerance only goes so far.

It’s worth noting that the pollster writes “we have reworked the Obama message into the survey, as requested” and it then lists the negatives, including the Obama-Muslim connection. It’s clear that someone in the Clinton camp requested that it should be a poll question.

Here’s the full list of ‘negative facts’ about Obama:

What John Podesta’s emails from 2008 reveal about the way power works in the Democratic Party.

JohnPodestaAP

BY DAVID DAYEN

October 14, 2016

The most important revelation in the WikiLeaks dump of John Podesta’s emails has nothing to do with Hillary Clinton. The messages go all the way back to 2008, when Podesta served as co-chair of President-elect Barack Obama’s transition team. And a month before the election, the key staffing for that future administration was almost entirely in place, revealing that some of the most crucial decisions an administration can make occur well before a vote has been cast.

Michael Froman, who is now U.S. trade representative but at the time was an executive at Citigroup, wrote an email to Podesta on October 6, 2008, with the subject “Lists.” Froman used a Citigroup email address. He attached three documents: a list of women for top administration jobs, a list of non-white candidates, and a sample outline of 31 cabinet-level positions and who would fill them. “The lists will continue to grow,” Froman wrote to Podesta, “but these are the names to date that seem to be coming up as recommended by various sources for senior level jobs.”

The cabinet list ended up being almost entirely on the money. It correctly identified Eric Holder for the Justice Department, Janet Napolitano for Homeland Security, Robert Gates for Defense, Rahm Emanuel for chief of staff, Peter Orszag for the Office of Management and Budget, Arne Duncan for Education, Eric Shinseki for Veterans Affairs, Kathleen Sebelius for Health and Human Services, Melody Barnes for the Domestic Policy Council, and more. For the Treasury, three possibilities were on the list: Robert Rubin, Larry Summers, and Timothy Geithner.

America’s Decadent Leadership Class

putin-power

Putin doesn’t respect them, and they don’t like half the American people

By PEGGY NOONAN
Oct. 13, 2016 7:15 p.m. ET

It is quite dreadful and a showing of the gravest disrespect that, if U.S. intelligence agencies are correct, Russia’s Vladimir Putin has inserted himself into America’s presidential election. And it could not have deeper implications.

If Russia is indeed behind the leaks of the emails of Democratic Party operatives Mr. Putin may have many reasons, as he often does, but the most frightening would be that he views the current American political leadership class as utterly decadent and unworthy of traditional diplomatic norms and boundaries. And, thinks, therefore, it deserves what it gets.

Why would he find them decadent—morally hollowed out, unserious? That is the terrible part: because he knows them.

Think of how he’s experienced them the past few years. Readers of these pages know of the Uranium One deal in which a Canadian businessman got Bill Clinton to help him get control of uranium mining fields in Kazakhstan. The businessman soon gave $31 million to the Clinton Foundation, with a pledge of $100 million more. Uranium One acquired significant holdings in the U.S. A Russian company moved to buy it. The deal needed U.S. approval, including from Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Trump: Corporate Media Clinton’s Most Powerful Weapon, “No Longer Involved in Journalism”

-donald-trump-candidacy-speech-thridgewoodblog

Posted By Ian Schwartz
On Date October 13, 2016

Donald Trump at a Thursday afternoon campaign rally in West Palm Beach:

DONALD TRUMP: Take a look at what is going on. They have stripped away these towns bare and rated the wealth for themselves and taken our jobs away, out of our country, never to to return unless I am elected president.

The Clinton regime is at the center of this power structure. We have seen this first hand in the Wikileaks document in which Hillary Clinton meets in secret with international banks to plot the destruction of U.S. sovereignty in order to enrich these global financial powers, her special interest friends and her donors. So true.

Honestly, she should be locked up.

And likewise, the e-mails show the Clinton regime is so closely and irrevocably tied to the media organizations that she, listen to this, she is given the questions and answers in advance of her debate performance with Bernie Sanders. Hillary Clinton York Times.

They definitely do not do that for me. I can tell you. The e-mail show the reporters collaborate and inspire directly with the Clinton campaign on helping her win the election all over.

With their control over our government at stake, with trillions of dollars on the line, the Clinton machine is determined to achieve the destruction of our campaign… this has now become a great, great great movement, the likes of which our country has never been seen before. They never seen a moment like this in our country before….

It’s one of the great political phenomenons. The most powerful weapon deployed by the Clintons is the corporate media, the press.

Let’s be clear on one thing, the corporate media in our country is no longer involved in journalism. They are political special interest no different than any lobbyist or other financial entity with a total political agenda and the agenda is not for you, it’s for themselves. their agenda is to elect crooked Hillary Clinton at any cost, at any price, no matter how many lives they destroy. For them, it’s a war and for them, nothing at all is out of bounds. This is a struggle for the survival of our nation. Believe me.

Emails: Clinton aides touted her ‘cordial relationship’ with Loretta Lynch

Attorney General Loretta Lynch

By SARAH WESTWOOD  10/13/16 11:20 AM

Hillary Clinton’s campaign staff discussed her friendliness with Attorney General Loretta Lynch in March 2015, just a few months before the FBI opened a criminal investigation into Clinton’s private email use.

The conversation, which was included among the roughly 9,000 emails stolen from the inbox of campaign chair John Podesta that have been published by WikiLeaks, involved a debate over whether Clinton should issue a statement in favor of Lynch’s confirmation as attorney general. The process had been held up thanks to a legislative battle over provisions in a human-trafficking bill.

It’s Official: This Election Is Driving Americans Nuts

Movie-HighAnxiety-MelBrooks-cropped-large

And it’s the oldest among us who are suffering the most.

Deena Shanker

There’s good news for Americans who find themselves waking up in a cold sweat at 3 a.m. to check the latest polls: You are not alone.

More than half of you—on both sides of the aisle—say the 2016 election is a major source of stress, according to a new survey from the American Psychological Association. “Historically, work, money, and the economy are the top three,” said clinical psychologist Lynn Bufka, part of the APA’s Stress in America team, which has been conducting surveys of what freaks us out the most for 10 years. “Now it’s right up there.”

Wikileaks Releases Another 2,000 Podesta Emails In Part 6 Of Data Dump

Just hours after wikileaks released the 5th part of the Podesta emails dump which in turn came shortly after part 4 which together amounted to some 1,866 new email, Wikileaks has unveiled the latest, 6th part in what now is a daily event, which released another 2,000 emails, bringing the total number of emails released to over 9,000 and assuring that at least one part of the media will be busy digging through hundreds of emails more, while much of the remaining part of the media will be doing all it can to ignore the latest release and instead focusing on the latest sexual allegations against Donald Trump.

Top 10 Clinton scandals exposed by WikiLeaks

Democratic presidential candidate U

By Kelly Riddell – The Washington Times – Wednesday, October 12, 2016

ANALYSIS/OPINION:

The ongoing WikiLeaks dump of Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman John Podesta’s emails has exposed the corruption and cronyism of her campaign and time in office. Everyday there are more revelations of wrongdoing, so much so, it’s hard to keep up with. So here’s the top 10 double-dealing, dishonest discoveries uncovered thus far.

1. Mrs. Clinton had cozy and improper relationship with the mainstream media.

CNN contributor and then adviser of the Democratic National Committee Donna Brazile gave the Clinton campaign advanced notice of a CNN town hall question that she thought may give Mrs. Clinton pause. Mrs. Clinton’s campaign lauded a New York Times reporter for “teeing up” stories for them, and ABC’s George Stephanopoulos for hammering home their talking points. The Boston Globe helped Mrs. Clinton’s team maximize her presence in New England during the primaries and CNBC’s John Harwood bragged to them about dogging Donald Trump during a Republican primary debate he moderated.

2. The State Department paid special attention to “Friends of Bill.”

After the massive 2010 Haiti earthquake, a senior aide to then-Secretary of State Clinton repeatedly gave special attention to those identified by the abbreviations “FOB” (Friends of Bill) or “WJC VIPs” (William Jefferson Clinton VIPs), referring to the former president. The emails show Mrs. Clinton’s State Department prioritized and benefited Mr. Clinton’s friends in the $10 billion recovery effort. The State Department also polled the popularity of Mr. Clinton in Haiti and shared the results with him.

Rasmussen : Voters Rate Bill Clinton’s Behavior Toward Women Worse Than Trump’s

DONALD J

Thursday, October 13, 2016

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Ridgewood NJ, Hillary Clinton jumped on the release last week of an 11-year-old video in which Donald Trump makes graphic sexual comments to say it shows her Republican rival’s demeaning attitude toward women. But Trump countered that Clinton was an enabler who allowed her husband, former President Bill Clinton, to sexually assault women for years. Voters tend to agree with Trump that Bill Clinton’s behavior was worse, but not surprisingly there’s a sharp partisan difference of opinion.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 43% of Likely U.S. Voters say allegations by women who claim to have been sexually assaulted by Bill Clinton are worse than Trump’s graphic sexual comments about women. Twenty-eight percent (28%) say Trump’s comments are worse, but nearly as many (26%) think the behavior of the two men is about the same.

Rasmussen also reports that the full results from Sunday night’s debate are in, and Donald Trump has come from behind to take the lead over Hillary Clinton.

The latest Rasmussen Reports White House Watch national telephone and online survey shows Trump with 43% support among Likely U.S. Voters to Clinton’s 41%. Yesterday, Clinton still held a four-point 43% to 39% lead over Trump, but  that was down from five points on Tuesday and her biggest lead ever of seven points on Monday.

Rasmussen polls also show most Republican voters still think top GOP leaders are hurting the party with their continuing criticism of Donald Trump and are only slightly more convinced that those leaders want Trump to be president.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 57% of Likely Republican Voters believe it is bad for their party that top Republicans continue to criticize Trump, but that’s down a bit from 62% in June. Twenty percent (20%) feel the continuing criticism is good for the party, up from 15%, while 16% now say it has no impact. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

But while 66% of Republicans felt top party leaders didn’t want Trump to be president four months ago, just 51% feel that way now. Still, only 27% believe party leaders want a Trump presidency, compared to 20% in the previous survey. Twenty-two percent (22%) are now unsure of what their party leaders want.

Among all likely voters, only 17% believe most top Republican leaders want Trump to be elected president. Sixty-two percent (62%) disagree, while 21% are not sure. These findings are little changed from June.

Thirty-four percent (34%) of all voters say it’s good for the GOP that its top leaders continue to criticize Trump, up from 26%, while 42% say it’s bad, down from 50%. Seventeen percent (17%) say such criticism has no impact on the party.
