Newark NJ, This morning, an observant commuter noticed an injured hawk hiding outside Newark Penn Station. The commuter alerted New Jersey Transit Police officers who quickly devised a rescue plan. The District 2 Officers worked together to ensure the hawk was safely contained without further injury to itself or others. They then transported the hawk to proper medical care.⁣

Clinic Vaccinates Nearly 1,000 NJ TRANSIT, NJDOT, Port Authority and New Jersey Turnpike Authority Employees in Single Day

Ridgewood NJ,  NJ TRANSIT, the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT), Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) and the New Jersey Turnpike Authority teamed up with Walgreens today to expedite the effort to vaccinate employees during a large-scale vaccine clinic in Newark. The clinic had capacity to vaccinate nearly 1,000 employees of the agencies in a single day.

NJT REWARDS Debuts Next Month; Customers Can Earn Discounts and More at Shops, Restaurants and Attractions

Ridgewood NJ, NJ TRANSIT customers will soon have the chance to save money at local businesses through NJT REWARDS, the new free NJ TRANSIT rewards program pilot where customers earn points towards purchases at participating local businesses. Beginning April 5th customers can join the program through the NJ TRANSIT mobile app and begin earning points, which can be redeemed for deals at participating local shops, restaurants and attractions as well as at participating national chains.

Newark NJ, on Sunday, 3/14/21, New Jersey Transit Police Officers Martinez, Pena-Perez, Ydo, and Mastrofilipo were on patrol at Newark Penn Station. The officers observed a man lying prone inside a restroom stall. Finding the man unconscious, they forced open the stall and removed him for treatment. They discovered that the man was near death. He was suffering an asphyxiation episode and exhibited signs of an impending overdose.⁣⁣

Ridgewood NJ, According to newly available court documents in a whistle-blower lawsuit against Academy Bus, a former employee claims that the private bus company defrauded NJ Transit since 2003. This is nine years earlier than the accusations made by the lawsuit filed against Academy Bus by the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office in November 2020. Academy is a company that was paid to operate seven NJ Transit routes in Hudson County.
