Demarest NJ, in honor of Veterans Day 2022, the Academy of the Holy Angels raised over $2,500 to help bring a trained service dog to a military veteran. This timely event was hosted November 9 by AHA Upper School’s Angels for Veterans organization and the students at AHA Middle School. Students, faculty, and staff (50 in all) received donations for completing laps around the Academy’s track. Funds benefit American Humane’s Pups4Patriots™.

Demarest NJ, Jenny Sweet, head coach of the Academy of the Holy Angels’ acclaimed dance team, is preparing for the new season with energy, optimism, and 41 members. This is the Academy’s largest team since the dance program was organized 12 years ago with Sweet at the helm. Her first team had just 14 dancers.

Demarest NJ, the varsity golfers from the Academy of the Holy Angels just completed a lights-out, first-ever undefeated season (14-0 in overall league play) that included an elusive triple crown. The Angels are now league champions, Big North champions, and AHA’s first Bergen County AND State Sectional champions. On May 16, the Angels finished second in the state, and Angelina Kim of Tenafly finished third in the state as an individual. The team includes Kim, ’25; Sharanya Agarwal of West New York, ’25; Sidney Chung of Cresskill, ’24; Inha Jun of Edgewater, ’25; and Amelia Shen of Demarest, ‘23.
Demarest NJ ,on May 19, the Regina Angelorum Chapter of the National Honor Society welcomed 102 of the Academy of the Holy Angels’ top scholars from the Class of 2022 and Class of 2023. NHS Moderator Sharon Jureller organized the induction, which was led by NHS Chapter President Katherine Amanda Donohue and Vice President Madeleine Outlaw. NHS Executive Board members include Ella Cho, Julianna DellaCroce, Holly Foothorap, Alina Keshishian, Jordan Kotch, Gian Lee, Janella Osbourne, Nina Sango, Adriana Santos, Lydia Schmidhauser, Nicole Sinde, and Jamie Sung.

Several intellectually curious scholars from the Academy of the Holy Angels just ventured across the Atlantic, and immersed themselves in a bespoke critical thinking course at Oxford University’s Pembroke College. While tailor-made classes are usually reserved for college students, AHA English Department Chair Nancy Schneberger developed this challenging course especially for the young women from Holy Angels. The curriculum she prepared incorporates growth mindset concepts and links into the Academy’s philosophy of transforming individuals through education.
Demarest NJ, Multiple Holy Angels students who excel in science and math have been inducted into the Academy’s chapters of the Science National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta. The joint ceremony took place on March 31.
