Demarest NJ,   “Urinetown,” the musical with the odd name, has been a gold mine for the Academy of the Holy Angels. This spring 2024 production just garnered three Metropolitan High School Theater Awards (better known as Metro Awards) and another three Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Awards – including the Paper Mill’s ultra-prestigious Outstanding Overall Production of a Musical, which is akin to a Tony Award!

Solid Gold: Academy of the Holy Angels Dancers Win World Title, Olympic Medal

Demarest NJ,  Holy Angels is now the home of the World Champions of Junior Hip-Hop!  The week of April 23, the Angels earned an Olympic gold medal at the International Cheer Union World Championships, which drew 57 teams from 30 countries to Orlando, Florida.

Demarest NJ, STEM students thrive at the Academy of the Holy Angels, where a group of teen engineers just built sustainable model homes. On February 6, members of Women in STEM presented their solar-powered creations to faculty members at an “open house,” where viewers were encouraged to open the models and examine the internal electrical components.

Martine Alvarez of Chestnut Ridge (New York), Haedyn Brigati of Englewood Cliffs, Alyssa Finch of River Vale, Lilianna Garber of Mahwah, Kiera Kwiatkowski of Glen Ridge, and Gigi Ochs of Fair Lawn took the stage with peers from around the globe.

‘Flawless’ Academy of the Holy Angels Dance Their Way to Two National Titles

Demarest NJ,  there’s nothing like the glitter of gold. Ask the Academy of the Holy Angels Varsity and JV dance teams, the nation’s newly-crowned 2024 pom champions. AHA’s dancers were the darlings of the Universal Dance Association’s National High School Championships, where the varsity Angels earned their team’s first national pom title, and JV brought home its second pom championship.

Academy of the Holy Angels Track Star Gina Certo Named ‘Athlete of the Week’

Wyckoff NJ,  Record-setting track star and three-time Most Valuable Runner Gina Certo has been named North Jersey Female Athlete of the Week. While this Academy of the Holy Angels junior has broken and re-set several records, Certo said being named Athlete of the Week is her greatest athletic accomplishment.

Academy of the Holy Angels Basketball Milestones: 800 Wins for Liddy, 1,000 Points for Serrano

Demarest  NJ, A legendary Holy Angels coach and a rising hoop star realized athletic milestones on the basketball court within a few days of each other. On December 30, 2023, Coach Susan Liddy of Emerson earned her 800th career victory with the Academy’s varsity basketball team. On January 2, 2024, combo guard Samantha Serrano (AHA ’24) of Nanuet, New York, scored her 1,000th career point.

Demarest NJ, Five top vocalists from Holy Angels will represent the Academy at the 2024 Carnegie Hall Honors Performance Series. Martine Alvarez of Chestnut Ridge (New York), Haedyn Brigati of Englewood Cliffs, Alyssa Finch of River Vale, Lilianna Garber of Mahwah, and Kiera Kwiatkowski of Glen Ridge successfully auditioned for the upcoming High School Honors Women’s Choir. Together with peers from around the globe, they will work with a renowned conductor to put together a mid-winter concert at this world-famous venue.

Hillsdale NJ,  Swimming star Kate Hurst of Hillsdale inked her letter of intent to continue her athletic career at the University of Texas at Austin. Hurst is a senior at the Academy of the Holy Angels, which hosted the National Signing Day ceremony on Wednesday, November 8.
