He has been described as a Somali refugee and a logistics management student at the school

Ohio State attack: Police identify suspect as business student

The Columbus Dispatch  •  Monday November 28, 2016 8:00 PM

Monday morning dawned on the Ohio State University campus in positive fashion. Students had just returned after visits home for Thanksgiving weekend. And they were still in a celebratory mood from the Buckeyes’ football win over rival Michigan on Saturday.

Nothing would have prepared anyone for what had happened by late morning.

A student, Ohio State police say, drove a car into a group of people standing outside a campus building, throwing some into the air and running over others. The driver then jumped from the car with a butcher knife, slashing more people. Less than a minute after the attack, an OSU police officer had shot and killed the man. In the end, 11 people were injured.

The suspect has been identified as Abdul Razak Ali Artan, who was a Logistics Management major in the College of Business at Ohio State. Police said they believe he was 18 years old, though other reports have said he was 20. Records show he lived in western Franklin County, in Franklin Township. Records also show that he graduated with honors, with an associate’s degree, from Columbus State Community College in May before transferring this semester to Ohio State.

Police said the officer who shot and killed Artan is Ohio State University Police Officer Alan Horujko, 28, who has been with the police department since January 2015. He wasn’t injured.

Congress votes to override Obama for first time

9/11 wtc

September 28, 2016, 02:54 pm
By Katie Bo Williams and Cristina Marcos

Congress voted Wednesday to override President Obama for the first time in his eight-year tenure, as the House followed the Senate in rejecting a veto of legislation allowing families of terrorist victims to sue Saudi Arabia.

The House easily cleared the two-thirds threshold to push back against the veto. The final tally was 348-77, with 18 Republicans and 59 Democrats voting no.

The Senate voted 97-1 in favor of the override earlier in the day, with only Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) voting to sustain the president’s veto.

“We can no longer allow those who injure and kill Americans to hide behind legal loopholes denying justice to the victims of terror,” said House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte(R-Va.).

The White House immediately slammed lawmakers following the Senate vote.

Readers Debate Radicalized Terrorist or Failure, bottom rank idiot?

Ahmad Khan Rahami

September 23,2016

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Ridgewood NJ, readers seems to fall into two major groups when it comes to terrorism ; either they are just losers with no friends or the more malevolent view that they are true believers in the fundamentalist cause .

“Dude failed in life, tried to find a purpose in religious extremism, and failed at that too. In a weird way, I pity him (that must be the latent Christian in me). Having said that, it would have been better for him to have died during his arrest. He’s obviously too stupid to have been trusted with any valuable information, and that’s assuming he’s ever been in contact with someone who would have such information. Highly doubtful. Right now he is spending a lot of time with people who know how to get answers, but they’ve probably already discovered they’re dealing with a bottom rank idiot.”
or….
“He was not radicalized. He was merely activated. Active or passive, they are all on the same page. Islam is a religion of peace only in regions or countries of the world where they have achieved utter political dominance. Every other place on earth is a war zone. Motivation? To terrorize and kill infidels, and die a martyr for Allah. Why must we feign ignorance when these thugs are so clearly telling us why they do what they do?”

State admits: Islamic State terrorists trying to pose as refugees

Chelsea bombing

State Department spokesman John Kirby acknowledged Wednesday that Islamic State terrorists are trying to mingle with refugee populations overseas in the hopes of making it to the U.S. posing as a refugee.

“I wouldn’t debate the fact that there’s the potential for ISIS terrorists to try to insert themselves, and we see that in some of the refugee camps in Jordan and in Turkey, where they try to insert themselves into the population,” Kirby said on “Fox and Friends.”

Lt Col Mann : “US national and local leadership are handling this weekend’s terror attacks on civilians like a little boy whistling in the dark”

Scott Mann Head Shot

September 20,2016

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Ridgewood NJ, according to Lt Col Mann the US national and local leadership are handling this weekend’s terror attacks on civilians in New York City, New Jersey, and Minnesota like a little boy whistling in the dark. “Except whistling in this situation doesn’t make the “boogey man” go away, it makes him stronger. The inability of politicians and some law enforcement to identify, grasp, and respond to these emerging local terror realities continues to put American’s at risk,” says Lt Col Mann.

Lt Col Mann gives us some quick thoughts;

Every U.S. citizen should note that ISIS has changed the application of terrorism in America and the West.

Where al Qa’ida strives for grand, spectacular attacks like the World Trade Center and Pentagon, ISIS targets us with a centralized message but de-centralized execution.

While politically correct leaders label these strikes “lone-wolf attacks” and dismiss their effects as local, home-grown amateur events – ISIS is maximizing their ability to bring horrific, inter-personal violence right into our shopping malls, 5K runs, and cafes.

As a Green Beret who spent his life learning and practicing the dark art of Guerrilla Warfare abroad, I say this, “Get Ready America…ISIS has found their game of “horrorism”. And they are going to bring it to us up close and personal than we’ve ever seen. Expect more and more local attacks in our schools, restaurants, and shopping centers for pennies on the dollar to what al Qa’ida manages to do once every couple of years.

The game has changed, and it’s high time we demand in this election year that our leaders acknowledge it.

Scott Mann, is a former Lt. Col and Green Beret. He is the CEO of Mission America and #1 Amazon International Best Selling Book, Game Changers, Going Local to Defeat Violent Extremists. Scott helped pioneer a program of community-based stability in the roughest places of tribal Afghanistan that has been widely accepted by community leaders and law enforcement across the U.S. Scott speaks and trains today’s civilian leaders on recognizing the erosion of trust in our society today, and learning the skills he developed as a Green Beret to address group tensions, make deep human connections, restore trust, and then bridge communities back together from the bottom-up. He spent 23 years in the Army Special Forces Career involved in Foreign Internal Defense, Counter-insurgency, and Stability Missions. He served in the Special Operations for over 18 years and has been a Green Beret for over 15 years in combat deployments in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Panama, Iraq and Afghanistan. He is one of the only former Lt. Col’s that is actively still involved in the day-to-day transition of Green Berets from active duty into civilian life. Time to Call Captain Obvious : Bergen Record Runs “Motive a Mystery” headline after alleged terror suspect 28-year-old Ahmad Khan Rahami was captured

Captain Obvious

September 20,2016
the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Ridgewood NJ , a day after alleged terror suspect 28-year-old Ahmad Khan Rahami was captured in Linden New Jersey ,the Bergen Record runs the headline ,”Motive a Mystery” .

We didn’t know if we should laugh or cry . Within minutes of the recent NYC terror attack the usual list of excuses was rolled out ; work place violence, beware of Islamophobia , talk radio, gun control ,NRA , climate change ,Donald Trump and a new one anti gay gays .

po·lit·i·cal cor·rect·ness
noun

the avoidance, often considered as taken to extremes, of forms of expression or action that are perceived to exclude, marginalize, or insult groups of people who are socially disadvantaged or discriminated against.

While it has already been well documented that the New York bombing Suspect Ahmad Rahami ‘may have been radicalised after visiting Afghanistan’. Even the New York Times even reported ,”Ahmad Khan Rahami’s father told Police in 2014 his son was a terrorist,”

The Washington Post reported that ,”After Rahami was captured, investigators found blood-spattered papers on him that included a reference to Anwar al-Awlaki, according to a federal law enforcement official who asked not to be identified discussing the ongoing investigation.

Awlaki, an American-born cleric who was a top leader for al-Qaeda in Yemen, was killed in a 2011 drone strike, but his rhetoric continue to resonate online. His teachings have been implicated in numerous terrorist attacks, including the 2009 Fort Hood shooting, and authorities say the gunman in Orlando earlier this year and one of the attackers in San Bernardino, Calif., last year had viewed Awlaki’s lectures.”

Maybe its time to call Captain Obvious ; Radical Islam . Many in the mainstream media continue to denie the obvious links that certain elements of the Muslim Religion have with Islamic Fundamentalism .

According to Hillel Gray, who Teaches at Miami Univ, Comparative Religion department, “Islam began in the 7th century, spread rapidly, and — already during medieval and early modern periods — splintered into various forms & communities. However, scholars consider fundamentalist Islam to have emerged in the modern era, especially in (post-)colonial contexts. Radical Islam can claim to have roots in earlier traditions, but it is viewed as a modern phenomenon (along with other religious fundamentalisms).”

The media and many to the left object to saying Muslim terrorist , or Islamic terrorist because for them it implies all Muslims are terrorist . Which begs the question , did Irish Republican Army (IRA)  imply all Irish are terrorist?

The Irish Republican Army (IRA), also called Provisional Irish Republican Army, a republicanparamilitary organization seeking the establishment of a republic, the end of British rule in Northern Ireland, and the reunification of Ireland.

The reality is that calling someone a Muslim Terrorist ,no more implies all Muslims are terrorist than calling someone an IRA member say’s all Irish are terrorist.

Folks its time to face fact ; it is what it is . A Muslim who is radicalised is a Muslim Terrorist!

Things New Yorkers Are More Afraid of Than ISIS

cockroach

By Madison Malone Kircher

Welcome to New York. It’s been waiting for you. And by “it,” I mean cockroaches, bedbugs, six train cars with broken air conditioners, and that guy dressed as an off-brand Tickle Me Elmo in Times Square leering at you. There’s a lot to be truly terrified of in this city.

Following the Chelsea bombing that occurred over the weekend, there was lots of talk online about how many New Yorkers weren’t phased or scared by the incident and the potential groups or motives behind it. To which, Twitter user @BobbyBigWheel (known in the real world as Robert Wheel) started a running list of the things one actually has to fear in New York. Ranked number one: getting pushed onto the subway tracks. Number eight: finding out your neighbor has bed bugs. Number 1,563: ISIS.

Officials probe bombings, stabbings in three U.S. cities in a 12-hour span: NJT TRAVEL ALERT

jersey shore bomb

NJT Travel Alerts Sep 19, 2016 04:33:47 AM
Pascack Valley, Main/Bergen Line and Port Jervis line customers WILL NOT have connecting service at Secaucus into New York due to Northeast Corridor and North Jersey Coast Line service suspension. Customers should stay on board their trains into Hoboken for PATH or Ferry service.

Police believe the two devices that were detonated in New Jersey and New York were made by the same person, a law enforcement source told Fox News on Sunday, as authorities move forward with investigations into the incidents as well as the ISIS-backed stabbing rampage in Minnesota — separate incidents that have cemented fears the United States is still a prime terror target.

As of Sunday afternoon, officials have not said publicaly there was a common link between the two bombing incidents, according to New York City Police Commissioner James P. O’Neill.

“I am concerned,” O’Neill said during a news conference. “We have a bomb that detonated and no one apprehended.”

The trio of dangerous episodes began Saturday when a pipe bomb exploded inside a plastic garbage can in New Jersey’s Seaside Park at 9:30 a.m. Investigators eventually found several devices “wired together” that did not detonate in the same garbage can.

The blast location could have proven deadly. Officials said runners participating in a charity 5K race were expected to pass by the area around the time of the explosion – but the start of the race was delayed after an unattended backpack was discovered. As a result, no one was injured.

‘There will be more’: Chilling 911 call after the Chelsea explosion

Chelsea bombing

By Larry Celona, Tina Moore and Shawn Cohen

September 18, 2016 | 1:05pm

A 911 caller warned of further explosions right afterthe blast that rocked Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood and injured 29 people, The Post has learned.

“I’m looking at the explosion down the block. There will be more,” the unidentified male said, claiming to be standing at 23rd Street and Seventh Avenue in the aftermath of the terrifying incident, according to law-enforcement sources Sunday.

Investigators believe the blast was the result of a home-made, pressure-cooker bomb similar to an unexploded device found later on 27th Street, sources said.

In another new wrinkle, a hand-written letter, a portion of which is in Arabic, was found inside a plastic bag that held the second device, sources said.

Explosive device detonates near Elizabeth train station

ELIZABETH — An explosive device in a backpack detonated near the Elizabeth train station early Monday as authorities were using a bomb robot to examine the item, officials said.

The blast occurred around 12:40 a.m. near Morris Avenue and Julian Place. The explosion was not a controlled blast, but happened as the robot was cutting the device, according to Mayor Christian Bollwage. No one was injured in the blast, Bollwage said.

Authorities found five devices inside a single backpack near the train station, including one that went off. After the explosion, press and bystanders were moved back because the other explosive devices inside of the backpack were believed to still be live, Bollwage said. As of 4 a.m., no other explosions were heard.

On Twitter, the FBI’s Newark division said “multiple improvised explosive devices” were found near the train station.

The incident unfolded after two men found the backpack in a waste basket on North Broad Street and Julian Place around 9:30 p.m. Sunday, the mayor said.

ISIS Supporters Rush To Celebrate NYC Explosion

Iraq ISIS Abu Wahe 2941936b

We cause you pain inside your house,” one ISIS supporter bragged online

By Gilad Shiloach
Sep 18, 2016 at 6:05 AM ET

Supporters of the Islamic State rushed to celebrate Saturday night’s powerful explosion in New York’s Chelsea neighborhood that injured at least 29 people, even as no group or individual has been arrested or claimed responsibility.

“The lions of the Caliphate roar in New York, we cause you pain inside your house, the carrier of the Cross,” wrote one Twitter user who went by the name “I am ISIS, come and block me.” The account was soon suspended. Another, called “The Lone Wolves,” tweeted with the Arabic hashtag #ExplosionManhattanNewYork “Oh God burn America, take revenge in the name of your oppressed slaves and believers’ blood.”

Others tweeted about “good tidings that keep coming” from New York, and one user affiliated with al-Qaeda in Syria tweeted: “Oh God go against America, the head of infidels. Oh God, count them and kill them one by one, and do not spare anyone of them.”

The hashtag #ExplosionManhattanNewYork was popular among other Arab users, mostly from Saudi Arabia, who don’t seem to be affiliated with terror groups but still criticized America, Vocativ found. One user said “ISIS is an American product, their goods come back to them.” Anotherwrote: “This is all your doing Mister Obama, you are the reason for the spread of ISIS in the region. I wish you would listen to the words of King Abdallah and his warning for the Arabs from ISIS.”
