Ridgewood’s NJSLA-Science scores far surpass statewide results

Ridgewood NJ, at Monday night Ridgewood school board meeting Ms. Poelstra gave a presentation on the New Jersey Student Learning Assessment-Science (NJSLA-Science) that was taken last spring by students in grades 5, 8, and 11. She explained changes to the New Jersey science standards and assessment, noting that the first scored test was taken in 2018-19. Ms. Poelstra then reviewed a comparison of Ridgewood’s Spring 2019 NJSLA administrations to state percentages. It is notable that Ridgewood’s scores far surpass the statewide results, and in comparison across similar districts, Ridgewood’s results are strong.To view the presentation, click here. Dear Ridgewood School Community,

The number of reported confirmed COVID-19 cases is rising in the state, the county, and Ridgewood. This escalation is the direct result of increased testing, and it speaks to the need to continue social distancing. We are starting to receive reports from Ridgewood families, alumni, and school employees about confirmed and suspected cases of COVID-19. There are many rumors circulating about who has COVID-19, and I hope that as a community we do not add undue work to the Health Department.

Man Charged for Allegedly Coughing on Wegman’s Employee and Saying He Had Coronavirus

Manalapan NJ, Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal announced that criminal charges were filed today against a man who allegedly coughed on a Wegman’s food store employee in Manalapan and told the woman that he has the coronavirus.

Mayor Reports on Passing of Ridgewood Resident Due to Coronavirus

Village of Ridgewood Mayor Ramon M Hache reported on the passing of a Ridgewood resident from COVID 19 in a Facebook post:

“It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of one of our residents this morning from COVID-19. Please join us in thoughts and prayers for the family during this very difficult time. Let us join them and all our fellow residents in solidarity and in our efforts to combat the spread of the virus. Be well and stay safe.”

Please remember the Governor’s closure of schools is open-ended.  I wish I could give you a definitive timeframe, but that is unknown. Iran has suggested that Israeli and “Zionist” scientists have used the epidemic to engineer an even more deadly strain of the virus to spread around the world, specifically in Iran.

Trenton NJ, after initially being downplayed by the media ,a Florida man diagnosed with coronavirus claims he was saved from certain death by an anti-malaria drug touted as a possible treatment by President Trump.

A recent French peer review study by renowned infectious disease specialist Dr. Didier Raoult which was published in the International Journal of Antimicrobial Agents showed promising results in the treatment of COVID-19 with Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ).

The French study also showed a significant decrease in “viral shedding,” from patients treated with HCQ. The lower the shedding, the less likelihood that the virus can be communicated to other individuals.
