According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Patriots have signed kicker Younghoe Koo to the practice squad. The news comes shortly after the team reportedly signed veteran Mike Nugent to the active roster.

Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood Board of Education made its decision on Monday night to fill out the term of the board seat vacated on July 30th 2019 with the term expiring on April 21,2020 .

While over 400 people showed support Saurabh Dani the administrator of the “It takes a Ridgewood Village ” Facebook page , the board opted for a lesser know quantity Muhammad Mahmoud .

Even long time BOE watchers we caught off guard .

With so many well qualified candidates, Sheila Brogan called the group “stellar”, the board appears to have focused on broadening representation ,finding someone who will not make waves and tow the party line .

Brogan said Mahmoud offered a new perspective and had children in the district.

In a twist of irony Mr. Mohmoud did not attend the meeting last night and does not vote in the district.

Reader suggests it is time for a Larger Board of Education

cottageplaceBOE_theridgewoodblog

” I would love a candidate who thought he or she was a representative for the public and not a rubber stamp for the administration. People don’t run because it means a campaign and some monetary expenditures. I think we need a 7 member Board. I believe we have the smallest board for a District our size. A larger Board might mean some diversity of opinion and each board member would not be liaison to so many committees . Same laison, same opinions, same outcomes. “

Ridgewood Celebrates 125 Years : Cottage Place added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

Ridgewood NJ, This year Ridgewood, NJ is celebrating its 125th anniversary! To commemorate the occasion, the Village of Ridgewood is holding a series of events to highlight various moments from the past, and to look forward to our future. On this page we will be posting your favorite memories and experiences. Watch this space for announcements, trivia, and stories about the village’s past, present, and future.

The building at 49 Cottage Place, was built in 1894 and remains a symbol of Ridgewood’s beginnings. As a result of a growing population accelerated by nearby railroads, Ridgewood needed a newer and larger schoolhouse. The first vote, overwhelmingly positive, called for a wooden building. Town wives convinced their husbands that wood would be unsafe, and the town found enough money to build the current structure, known today as the Education Center. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.
