Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – At Sunday’s Hidden River Chase regatta on the Schuylkill River, Ridgewood Crew finished off its 2025 head racing season the same way it had performed throughout the fall: by winning races and bringing home plenty of hardware.
Facing dozens of teams across the mid-Atlantic, Ridgewood rowers topped the field in six different events and scored three other podium finishes on the Schuylkill’s 4,000-meter course. Its six gold medals were twice as many as any other club, helping power it to a team victory with 117.5 overall points, easily outdistancing the second-place club’s 94.75.

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – To match the peak autumn foliage on display this past Sunday in Philadelphia, Ridgewood Crew captured its own array of dazzling colors by bringing home six medals from the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta.
The regatta’s 3,800-meter course requires rowers to navigate through four bridges as well as rival boats, which compete in a staggered, time-trial head racing format. The 2025 Head of the Schuylkill, the race’s 55th year, was a two-day event that featured several thousand rowers of all ages from nearly 300 clubs across nine countries. On Sunday, mainly reserved for youth races, Ridgewood had a robust 29 entries in 15 different events, with almost all athletes competing in two races.
