Hawthorne NJ, An injured snapping turtle slowed traffic on Route 208 southbound near Goffle Road in Hawthorne on Sunday morning, 06/16. Hawthorne Police wisely established a safety zone until the injured turtle could be safely removed from the roadway by Tyco Animal Control Services.

Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, Bradley W. Post, 46, of Ho-Ho-Kus, passed away on May 18, 2019 in a tragic plane crash off the coast of Roatán, Honduras. He was off on another one of his adventures, this time to learn how to fly fish. Brad was born in Ridgewood, NJ on January 8, 1973 (he shared a birthday with Elvis; he would want you to know that). Brad grew up in Ramsey and Saddle River and graduated from Ramsey High School in 1991. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Boston University in 1995, he would spend the next 24 years “insuring anything that had wheels and carried people – charter buses, school buses, limos, taxis and paratransit.” Brad and his brother, Tom, were the fourth generation to own and operate Post Financial Services Group. Their younger brother, Garrett, later joined them at the firm. They purchased the family business from their father in 2003 and continued to grow it until they sold to Hilb Group in 2016. Brad had recently joined the Board of Directors and been named the Regional Leader for Hilb Group, Tri-State.

Ridgewood NJ, Timothy Monahan, RHS Teacher of Economics & Law and five students from the RHS Finance Club recounted their experience training for and competing at the 2019 Fed Challenge at the Federal Reserve in New York. The students were tasked with creating a forecast for the U.S. economy and had to support their forecast before members of the Federal Reserve. The RHS team came in second place in this highly competitive contest.

Officials warn that if you were at Rosalita’s Roadside Cantina Friday around lunch time, you may be at risk for the measles. 4 generations here and I do not agree with your subjective essay about Ridgewood schools declining compared to other public schools. Your observation about no child left behind being a negative is valid for all public schools not just Ridgewood. Private schools will likely continue to benefit from this advantage but truth is they always have.

Ho Ho Kus NJ, Fire Hydrant flushing schedule The DPW will follow the zones listed below for our semi- annual flushing schedule. These are the same zones used for leaf collection so you should be familiar with them. Flushing will take place over a given week in each zone as noted. We caution resident’s water may get dirty during this process and that doing laundry should be avoided. Just let the cold water run for a few minutes until clear once the flushing is complete. This is an important part of maintaining our water system and we apologize for any inconvenience it may cause.
