Brazen Female Mail Thief Steals Glen Rock Residents Mail in Broad Daylight

Glen Rock NJ, on Saturday September 17th at 11:18 AM a Glen Rock resident of Harristown Road reported a theft of mail from his mailbox. The resident stated that camera footage captured a vehicle enter his driveway.  A female occupant walked around the outside of his home and then entered his front porch. The female tried to open the front door of the home which was locked at the time and then proceeded to remove the mail from the victim’s mailbox. The actor then took the mail and returned to her vehicle and left the scene. The Glen Rock detective bureau is investigating.

Mail Thieves Apprehended in Upper Saddle River

Upper Saddle River Nj, according to Upper Saddle River Police ,on Friday, July 1st at approximately 10 AM, a twenty-two year old male from Columbia, Maryland, and a 25 year-old male from Newburgh, New York, were stopped on Weiss Road. Further investigation revealed the males possessed stolen mail from nearby Bergen County towns. It is believed they were traveling the streets of Upper Saddle River to commit further acts of mail theft. Both suspects were arrested and charged with Possession of Stolen Property and Conspiracy to Commit Theft. Both were released on their own recognizance.

Ho-Ho-Kus Post Office Mail Box Hit by Early Morning Theft

Ho-Ho-Kus Nj, Please be advised that the Ho-Ho-Kus Post Office outside mail box experienced a theft during the early morning hours of 04/27/2019. All but four (4) pieces of mail were stolen. If you or anyone you know placed or dropped mail off in this box after 5 pm on 04/26/2019, it has most likely been stolen and/or thrown out. Please cancel any checks or money orders that may have been sent out. Also, please monitor any and all bank or personal accounts for potential identity thefts. Please contact the Ho-Ho-Kus Police Department if you or anyone you know becomes a victim of identity theft over the next few weeks.

Reports Continue of Mail theft at Ridgewood Post Office

Ridgewood Police continue to report mail box theft. On March 20th, a Haverstaw, N.Y. resident responded to Ridgewood Police headquarters to report a theft in the past. The victim reported sending three money orders through the Ridgewood Post Office, however the money orders did not reach the intended recipient in Binghamton, N.Y. but discovered to have been endorsed by an unknown person in Haverstaw, N.Y. The victim requested documentation of the incident.

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Police report repercussions of Village of Ridgewood mail drop box thefts :

On December 30th, Det. Douglas Henky responded to the Ridgewood Post Office to investigate a report of criminal mischief and theft from a USPS mailbox. Upon arrival the mailbox was discovered to have been forced open and mail was removed from within. A Postal Supervisor was on scene and recovered the remaining pieces of mail from inside. The U.S. Postal Police were notified of the incident.

On December 31st, two additional USPS mailboxes were discovered to have been forced open on Cottage Place. Patrol units and the Ridgewood Detective Bureau responded to investigate. The mail recovered within was turned over to the Ridgewood Postal Supervisor and the Postal Inspectors were notified.

On January 2nd, an Amsterdam Avenue resident responded to Ridgewood Police headquarters to report a fraud and theft in the past. The victim reported multiple personal checks were discovered altered and fraudulently cashed by persons not intended. The mailed items were believed to have been stolen from a USPS mailbox within the Village.

An employee of an East Ridgewood Avenue business responded to Ridgewood Police headquarters on January 3rd to report a theft and fraud in the past. The business reported a mailed check was altered and cashed by a person not intended. The check was believed to have been stolen from a USPS mailbox in the Village.

On January 3rd, an Oak Street resident responded to Ridgewood Police headquarters to report a fraud and theft in the past. The victim reported a personal check was discovered altered and fraudulently cashed by persons not intended. The mailed check was believed to have been stolen from a USPS mailbox within the Village.

The “Check In the Mail ” has gone Missing in Ridgewood

Ridgewood NJ , we have received multiply reports that mail dropped at the Ridgewood Post Office was somehow stolen and checks were fraudulently altered and deposited.  This follows a similar reports in the Twp of Washington and in Oakland Nj, earlier this year .
