US Senate Candidate Jeff Bell will speak out on Washington’s Economic Dysfunction at Anti Harry Reid rally today

US Senate Candidate Jeff Bell will speak out on Washington’s Economic Dysfunction at Anti Harry Reid rally today

US Senate Candidate Jeff Bell asks what do Harry Reid and I have in common besides the fact that we’re old? Absolutely nothing. He’s made himself into dictator of the U.S. Senate in order to do President Obama’s bidding. Each and every conservative bill dies at the hands of Harry Reid because he won’t even allow a vote on any reform agenda.

That’s why I’m going to South Jersey on Monday to be the keynote speaker at a rally organized by the Tea Party Patriots in response to Harry Reid’s road trip there to raise money. If you’d like to join me, it will be 5 pm at 2023 W. Marlton Pike in Cherry Hill.

Harry Reid is coming to New Jersey today August  4th.  He will be here for a fund raiser for Donald Norcross (running for the recently vacated seat of Rob Andrews).  The fund raiser is being held at Café Lamberti, 2011 Rt. 70 W., Cherry Hill, NJ 08002, at 4 PM.

This is an interesting opportunity for people to draw attention to  to all the the Big Government dysfunction ,Failed Economic Policies and the corrupt nature of the current crowd in Washington, D.C.

Sadly, Donald Norcross would be just one more Reid acolyte that would bow to the will of the political machine instead of to the will of the people.

The event begins today Monday, August 4, 2014 ,4-7 PM (come when you are able, leave when you have to)

We will be meeting near the intersection of Rt. 70 East and S. Washington St.Parking on the side streets (S. Washington and Beideman) as well as on Grove St. by the Armory then walk up S. Washington

Wear comfortable shoes and a hat (there is very little shade).  Bring your signs and water – it is supposed to be warm. You may bring a chair if you choose to sit.

The Senate can be taken back from Harry Reid once and for all this year. Here in New Jersey, my race is incredibly close — I’m trailing by just 7 points according to a new New York Times poll.

New round of debate set on N.J.’s liquor licenses

New round of debate set on N.J.’s liquor licenses

THE RECORD

Proponents of an overhaul of New Jersey’s liquor-license laws are expecting to gain some traction this year after decades of proposals and legislation kicking around unsuccessfully.

Assemblyman John Burzichelli, D-Gloucester, has been circulating a rough draft of a bill that would update the state’s liquor laws. He’s been talking about the issue with “select groups” of stakeholders, including restaurant owners and real estate developers. In New Jersey, liquor licenses range from $50,000 to more than $2 million, which critics say is putting a damper on economic development.

Advocates say a change in the laws — which could include issuing more licenses — would spur restaurant openings throughout the Garden State and boost redevelopment projects in ailing urban and suburban downtowns.

Burzichelli, chairman of the Assembly Appropriations Committee, said he hoped to have a final draft of his legislation introduced next month. Calling his bill a work in progress, he declined to discuss it in detail. But he did say that it will address the main issue that has stymied liquor-law change in the past: finding a way to protect and compensate current license holders who fear a change would devalue their licenses.

Rep Scott Garrett’s gas tax bill is stuck in neutral

THE RECORD

A last-minute bill that passed Congress last week closed a looming shortfall in the federal highway trust fund, ensuring that money from Washington continues flowing to states for road, bridge and transit projects through next May, instead of drying up later this month.

The stopgap bill, needed because gas taxes no longer raise enough money to support highway and transit spending, relies on several gimmicks, including increasing a customs fee in 2024 and spending all that “revenue” over the next 10 months.

But the long-term transportation financing would have been different if Rep. Scott Garrett, one of just two Republicans who opposed the bill on Thursday, had his way.

Instead of states sending money to Washington and waiting to see what comes back, Garrett, R-Wantage, would give states the option to keep the 18.4-cent federal gas tax paid within their borders and decide how to spend it without federal oversight.

“We would not have to literally beg Washington to get our own money back,” Garrett said in a brief interview last week. “We would not have to be limited or restricted on the purposes. If we felt the money should be used over here and Washington says ‘over there,’ we could spend it where we felt the people of New Jersey need it the most.”

What is not clear is whether New Jersey would want to take that option if it were available. Governor Christie’s office did not respond when asked it wanted to opt out of federal financing.

Port Authority Bus Terminal, beset by delays and decrepitude, set for $260M overhaul

THE RECORD

Richard Simon keeps a tally of every injustice inflicted upon him by the Port Authority Bus Terminal. At 5:02 p.m., Bus 77 left for Toms River. Simon recorded its departure on a small notepad using a scratchy blue pen.

Further insults occurred at 5:03, when buses departed for Freehold and Morristown and another for Toms River, leaving Simon behind on the platform waiting for his own bus, the 196, scheduled to depart at 5 p.m. for West Milford. After a lull, four buses left at 5:11, which Simon found especially galling.

“It just kills me,” said Simon, 66, shaking with anger. “They’re charging us top-dollar fares and giving us Third World service.”

Simon isn’t the only person who’s angry. Conditions at the Port Authority Bus Terminal are worse than ever, said Mark Schaff, the man in charge of the facility. Long lines are growing longer. Critical pathways for buses and pedestrians are clogged, deteriorated and dangerous. The heating and cooling systems are inadequate, the bathrooms are horrors, and the ceiling leaks rain and melted snow onto commuters’ heads.

After decades of deferred overhauls, however, a rare alignment of commuter outrage and shifting politics may force the building’s owner, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, to make repairs. The agency plans to spend up to $260 million on maintenance in the coming years, a small down payment on what commuters, some elected officials and the agency’s leaders agree is truly needed: an all-new terminal that could cost more than $1 billion.

Ebola terror at Gatwick as passenger collapses and dies getting off Sierra Leone flight

By Rebecca Younger, Andy Lines

Staff tell of fears as jet from Africa is quarantined after the death of passenger who was ‘sweating and vomiting’ before she collapsed

Airport staff tonight told of their fears of an Ebola outbreak after a passenger from Sierra Leone collapsed and died as she got off a plane at Gatwick.

Workers said they were terrified the virus could spread globally through the busy international hub from the West African country which is in the grip of the deadly epidemic.

The woman, said to be 72, became ill on the gangway after she left a Gambia Bird jet with 128 passengers on board.

She died in hospital on Saturday.

Ebola has killed 256 people in Sierra Leone.

A total of 826 have died in West Africa since the outbreak began in February.

Tests were carried out to see if the woman had the disease.

The plane was quarantined as officials desperately tried to trace everyone who had been in contact with the woman.

Airport workers faced an anxious wait to see if the woman had Ebola. One said: “Everyone’s just petrified.

“We’ve all seen how many people have died from Ebola, especially in Sierra Leone, and it’s terrifying.”

The West’s Death Wish

Young Palestinian Girls Carrying Rockets, Gaza, Hamas

The West’s Death Wish
Aug. 03
By Matt Rooney | The Save Jersey Blog

We’ve seen this movie before.

Israel is bombarded with rockets fired by Hamas-backed terrorists, flush with cash from international humanitarian aid efforts and the enemies of democracy lurking elsewhere, and hiding like the worst species of cowards among civilians in schools, mosques and hospitals: https://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-4553643,00.html

Understandably, Israel defends itself by moving into Gaza to destroy the tunnel networks and rocket sites utilized to terrorize and murder its population, the only peoples living in a health Middle Eastern democracy, all the while proving humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.  Wouldn’t we do the same if, hypothetically, Canadian terrorists began raining rockets down on Michigan tomorrow?

Amazingly the West’s answer isn’t universally affirmative.

Not everyone understands or wants to understand. The international community intervenes in the Israeli-Palestinian… by attempting to grab Israel’s wrists and inquiring, in an almost mocking fashion, “why are you hitting yourself?” while Hamas breaks one brokered cease fire after another with impunity. The international media, in turn, focuses on the collateral damage behind Gaza’s lines (remember: Hamas terrorists hide their munitions and fighters behind human shields) and ignores the 3.5 million Israeli citizens living under constant threat of annihilation.

image7

In a word, Save Jerseyans, the dynamic at work here is insane.

Deference to the “cause” of Hamas is so illogical, particularly in light of the latest broken cease fire, that I’m left to assume any support for Hamas is either (1) evidence of Antisemitism or (2) sufficient reason for a CT scan.

I think we’re seeing a LOT of both.

Young Palestinian Girls Carrying Rockets, Gaza, Hamas (Photo credit: IDF Blog)

Contemplate the “cause” as articulated by its supporters and draw your own conclusions. Hamas’s charter unequivocally calls for the destruction of Israel. Not the relocation of Israel, a “land-for-peace” swap with Israel, a political compromise with Israel, or even monetary reparations to be paid by Israel. All of the Jews in the Holy Land dead. That’s their stated goal. Again, you don’t have to take my word for it. They’ve written it down!

Homicidal actors always announce what they’re going to do before they do it. Hitler and his brown shirts were unabiguously violent anti-Semitic in the 1930s. Mass murders regularly disclose their rants online or to those around them in the run-up to the massacre.

Anti-Semitism Rises in Europe Amid Israel-Gaza Conflict

Anti-Semitism Rises in Europe Amid Israel-Gaza Conflict

By MELISSA EDDYAUG. 1, 2014

BERLIN — Across Europe, the conflict in Gaza is generating a broader backlash against Jews, as threats, hate speech and even violent attacks proliferate in several countries.

Most surprising perhaps, a wave of incidents has washed over Germany, where atonement for the Holocaust and other Nazi crimes is a bedrock of the modern society. A commitment to the right of Israel to exist is ironclad. Plaques and memorials across the country exhort, “Never Again.” Children are taught starting in elementary school that their country’s Nazi history must never be repeated. Even so, academics say the recent episodes may reflect a rising climate of anti-Semitism that they had observed before the strife over Gaza.

This week, the police in the western city of Wuppertal detained two young men on suspicion of throwing firebombs at the city’s new synagogue; the attack early Tuesday caused no injuries. In Frankfurt on Thursday, the police said, a beer bottle was thrown through a window at the home of a prominent critic of anti-Semitism. She heard an anti-Jewish slur after going to the balcony to confront her assailant, The Frankfurter Rundschau reported. An anonymous caller to a rabbi threatened last week to kill 30 Frankfurt Jews if the caller’s family in Gaza was harmed, the police said.

The string of incidents comes after Chancellor Angela Merkel condemned anti-Semitic chants from pro-Palestinian demonstrators and President Joachim Gauck called on Germans to “raise their voices if there is a new anti-Semitism being strutted on the street.”

But even as the police have clamped down on demonstrators, banning slogans that target Jews instead of Israeli policies, a spike in violence has spread fear among Jews, not only in Germany but also in other European countries.

Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini

10356143_761222617262494_6510624279805221066_n

Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini:

“Those who know nothing about Islam pretend that Islam counsels against war. Those people are witless. Islam says: ‘Kill all the unbelievers just as they would kill you all!’ Does this mean that Muslims should sit back until they are devoured by the infidel? Islam says: ‘Kill them, put them to the sword and scatter them.’ Islam says: ‘Whatever good there is exists thanks to the sword.’ The sword is the key to Paradise, which can be opened only for the Holy Warriors! Does all this mean that Islam is a religion that prevents men from waging war? I spit upon those foolish souls who make such a claim.”
