Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood firefighters and police officers responded to a home located in the 200 block of South Pleasant Avenue early Saturday evening in response to a 911 telephone call reporting a chemical odor emanating from a residential garage.

Arriving firefighters quickly identified the odor’s source as a container filled with aging chlorine tablets, which were starting to sublime.  On duty personnel from the Bergen County Department of Health and Human Services Hazardous Materials Division were quickly summoned to assist Ridgewood firefighters.

After an extensive evaluation and consultation period, it was determined that the safest method to dispose of the material was to release the container’s contents into the sanitary sewer system, followed by a significant flush of fresh water.  This was safely accomplished after a portion of South Pleasant Avenue was closed to traffic and a manhole was opened.  No one was injured during the incident.

Readers says  The New Village Manager will be screened more closely. He will have to be a DEMOCRAT, that donated to the party

The New Village Manager will be screened more closely. He will have to be a DEM, Have given heavily to the party and subscribe to our mayors politics for starters.

How much will Mayor Paul Aronsohn hatred for Gabbert going to cost the Ridgewood Tax payer.

For the rest of the village employees better change you affiliation from Rep to Dem and don’t forget to kiss up to the Mayor when you see him and never but never say no to him our you too will be on the outside looking in.

How much will it cost to fire Mr. Gabbert?

Whom does the mayor have in mind to replace him?

The answers to both questions are urgently needed and taxpayers deserve to know.

Some walk out, others voice frustration over forum on towering poles in Ridgewood

RIDGEWOOD — Residents of Hope Street and Spring Avenue went to a Public Service Electric and Gas workshop on Wednesday night expecting to air their concerns and ask questions about the recent installation of 65-foot-tall utility poles.

What those 60-plus residents got instead at Village Hall was a cut-and-dry informational exhibit — one they say left them exasperated.

More than 20 PSE&G employees staffed six tables set up in council chambers. Each table focused on a different aspect of the project, from construction and engineering to potential environmental impacts. The staffers invited residents to tour the tables and have their questions informally fielded.

But a majority of the residents walked out in protest. Others stayed, after the residents took a vote on how to respond to the format.

“This is not what I came here for,” muttered one as she exited. “Somehow, though, I’m not surprised.”

Guiness Book: World’s Smallest Man….Paul Aronsohn

Ridgewood NJ, If  Mayor Aronsohn does succeed in getting both Gwenn Hauck and Albert Pucciarelli to sign on to his never-ending quest to oust Dr Gabbert, then who replaces him?

The mayor has a personal and political vendetta against Dr.Gabbert and his attacks on him both personally and professionally speak volumes, not of Dr. Gabbert, but of Paul Aronsohn.

Does the mayor have so little confidence in both Dr. Gabbert, as village manager and Stephen Sanzari, as CFO, that a Financial Oversight Board (chaired by none other than Nancy Johansen, wife of Paul Aronsohn AND Chris Christie fundraiser, John Johansen) is required?  An ad hoc group of citizens coming together to discuss ideas is one thing, a quasi-official “committee” with appointed members is quite another.

If  Mr. Sanzari, as CFO of the village, cannot adequately and effectively administer to the financial health of Ridgewood, then HE needs to be replaced (which I am NOT advocating for).

This is just another item on an ever-increasing list of “mayoral” over reach. What’s next?….we abolish our Faulkner Act form of government?  When Clinton, Richardson, McGreevy and Menendez are your political role models, “disgraced” and “former” are words you should get used to.  Everything that Americans detest about “government” has been laid at our door by a back-bencher with delusions of grandeur.

Clueless Obama Jobs Speech Once Again Misses the mark

Clueless Obama Jobs Speech Once Again Misses the mark
July 31,2013
the  staff of the Ridgewood blog

Clueless Obama jobs speech once again misses the mark on Jobs and shows a continued complete lack of understanding how the free market economy works.

The President once again pushed for a top Tax Rate of 28% for Corporations, and a 40% rate for Small Business?

The New York Times reports that President Obama is reviving an old proposal to lower the corporate tax rate from 35 percent to 28 percent (and 25 percent for manufacturers). Obama’s push to lower the corporate tax rate to 28 percent comes less than a year after he raised the top individual income tax rate, paid by many small businesses, to 39.6 percent.

The President stuck to the generic “close the loops debate ” and  failed to explain in detail which loopholes would be closed.or why?

Could someone please tell the president that small business generates most the jobs in the US and the continued attacks on small business are shutting down one of the main drivers of the economy .

Government Promises to Stop Lying Because of Drudge Report Spotlight

Shows the power of the real media in breaking through the electronic Berlin Wall

Adan Salazar and Alex Jones
Infowars.com
July 28, 2013

In a groveling public display earlier this week, the Department of Defense announced plans to increase its public affairs efforts due to the devastating effect independent media is having on the Pentagon’s ability to control its news, more specifically, its ability to quash negative news stories before they go viral.

On Thursday, the DoD bemoaned DrudgeReport.com and the fact that, because of citizen journalists, social media and other online platforms reporting news in real time, the public is more quickly becoming aware of the constant patterns of contradictions and habitual lying by a government long ago captured by a group of corrupt interests.

Saudi Prince: Fracking Is Threat To Kingdom

Prince knows what American Media and Politicians fail to grasp

As the fracking revolution eases demand for the kingdom’s oil and gas, a billionaire prince warns his nation to find new income.

Billionaire Prince Alwaleed bin Talal said the Gulf Arab kingdom needed to reduce its reliance on crude oil and diversify its revenues.

His warning comes as rising shale energy supplies in the United States cut global demand for Saudi oil.

In an open letter to his country’s oil minister Ali al Naimi and other government heads, published on Sunday via his Twitter account, Prince Alwaleed said demand for oil from Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (Opec) member states was “in continuous decline”.

Exclusive: Signs of declining economic security
By HOPE YEN
— Jul. 28 4:26 PM EDT

WASHINGTON (AP) — Four out of 5 U.S. adults struggle with joblessness, near poverty or reliance on welfare for at least parts of their lives, a sign of deteriorating economic security and an elusive American dream.

Survey data exclusive to The Associated Press points to an increasingly globalized U.S. economy, the widening gap between rich and poor and loss of good-paying manufacturing jobs as reasons for the trend.

The findings come as President Barack Obama tries to renew his administration’s emphasis on the economy, saying in recent speeches that his highest priority is to “rebuild ladders of opportunity” and reverse income inequality.

Steve Lonegan Exposes Cory Booker’s Failed Record on Jobs

“I have been fortunate to run several small businesses and experience the satisfaction that comes from building a successful venture. I have seen firsthand what it takes to create jobs in this country and this state, and I can tell you definitively – it is not government bureaucrats.”

TEANECK, NJ – Republican U.S. Senate candidate Steve Lonegan held a press conference today in Teaneck at the site of one of his small businesses, challenging Cory Booker’s dismal record on jobs. This was the second stop on Mayor Lonegan’s “Expose Cory Booker” tour.

“I have been fortunate to run several small businesses and experience the satisfaction that comes from building a successful venture,” Mayor Lonegan said. “I have seen firsthand what it takes to create jobs in this country and this state, and I can tell you definitively – it is not government bureaucrats.

“In contrast, Cory Booker has worked in government his entire life. He has not created one job – not one. His jobs plan in this Senate race can be summed up in two words: More government. He has called for ‘innovation hubs with robust oversight,’ because, fundamentally, he believes that government is the solution to all of our problems.

“While Cory Booker puts his faith in government bureaucrats, I prefer to put my faith in the hardworking, entrepreneurial American people. While Cory Booker thinks government oversight and regulation will spur job growth, I know from experience that growth and invention occur when we allow our natural creative instincts to thrive.

“Consider some of the great innovations of the past decade. There was no ‘robust oversight,’ no political appointee or lifetime bureaucrat looking over the shoulder of Steve Jobs as he worked to change our lives by developing the iPod or iPhone. No government official with a clipboard stalked Henry Ford around his factory, no senior official from the administration tracked Bill Gates’ progress.

“Yet Booker and his Democratic colleagues promote exactly this kind of stifling environment where the best and brightest are reduced to cogs in a massive governmental machine.”
