Waldwick NJ, despite one off issues over insurance the Waldwick Lions Club’s 2023 Family Fun Days Carnival will take place from Tuesday, August 8th, through Saturday, August 12th, located at the Forum School grounds on Wyckoff Ave. An annual tradition for over 60 years, this family friendly five day carnival features rides for all ages, delicious festival food and treats, carnival games & prizes, and fun for the entire family!

Waldwick NJ, Two (2) individuals required ambulance transportation to local hospitals following a late Tuesday afternoon, 07/25, multi-vehicle collision at the intersection of Wyckoff Avenue and Harrison Avenue, Waldwick. Waldwick Police , Waldwick Fire Department , Waldwick EMS, and BLS & ALS units from The Valley Hospital responded to aid victims and mitigate crash debris/fluid spills. Two (2) vehicles were towed from the scene.

Waldwick NJ, Just past 2 in the morning July 5th the Waldwick, NJ Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a single vehicle motor vehicle accident on Route 17 southbound near the bus stop. A Chevy pickup left the roadway and crashed through the guardrail coming to rest on its passenger side. Two occupants needed assistance in exiting the truck. Waldwick, NJ Volunteer Fire Department crews first stabilized the vehicle before assisting them out. The patients were turned over to the Waldwick Volunteer Ambulance Corps and were transported to Valley Hospital with non life threatening injuries. Fire Department units stood by till the vehicle was removed.

Waldwick NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of KULDEEP SETHI (DOB: 5/10/1957; married; self-employed/waiter) of 2356 Rosemont Terrace, Furlong, PA, on charges of money laundering, theft by deception, and conspiracy to commit the afore-mentioned crimes. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and Waldwick Police Department under the direction of Chief Mark Messner.

Waldwick NJ, just after noon the Waldwick, NJ Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the third call of the day, an active fire in a dumpster trailer parked in the driveway of a home on Glenair Avenue which was in close proximity to the home. First arriving Squad 633 pulled one attack line to knock down the fire.

Waldwick NJ, Saturday afternoon just past 4:30 the Waldwick, NJ Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a working house fire on Moore Avenue. First arriving apparatus found a heavy volume of fire extending from the front of the house and the B side.

Waldwick NJ, just before 10pm the Waldwick Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched for a reported train on fire in the area of the train station. Arriving units found an active fire in a hopper car. Engine 631 laid a supply line into the Transit lot and supplied one 2 1/2 hand line and also the tower ladder. Truck 641 set up the bucket and extinguished the fire from above. Bergen County HazMat also responded and took readings of the water run off and air samplings. WALVAC also stood by at the scene. All trains were held in both directions due to the incident. No injuries were reported .

Doris and Bob Ryan were fixtures within the WFD. There wasn’t much that went on with the Ladies Auxiliary or Fire Department that Doris and Bob weren’t there for. Doris is now reunited with her loving husband Bob, until we meet again, May She Rest in Peace.”

Waldwick NJ, Waldwick, NJ Volunteer Fire Department responded to two alarms to the Methodist Church less than 12 hours apart for different reasons. The first alarm occurred around 11:30 Saturday night for an activated fire alarm. 1st arriving crews found a broken heat pipe on the second floor. The furnace was secured with the assistance of the building manager. This morning at 9:45 another fire alarm was reported. First arriving companies found a heavy smoke condition coming from the basement. A second alarm was sounded due to the age of the structure. A hand line was stretched and crews entered the basement to find a very large blower motor on fire. The power was cut to the unit and the fire quickly went out. Mutual aid companies assisted with ventilation of the facility and overhaul.

Waldwick NJ, an Uber driver who had pulled over on Route 17 to check on a sick passenger was hit by a passing vehicle and hospitalized with injury. Waldwick police Lt. Troy Seifert said the ride-share driver, from Yonkers, was hit about 12:35 a.m. Saturday on Route 17 South prior to the Sheridan Avenue exit in Waldwick.
