Ridgewood Nj, Every year on September 29, coffee lovers come together to celebrate National Coffee Day, honoring one of the world’s most beloved beverages. Whether you’re a casual sipper or a devoted aficionado, this day is the perfect excuse to savor your favorite cup of joe.

Coffee’s journey from a wild plant in Ethiopia to a global staple is filled with rich history and legend. According to popular lore, the coffee plant was first discovered in the Ethiopian region of Kefa by a curious goatherd named Kaldi in 850 CE. After noticing his goats acting strangely after eating berries from a nearby bush, Kaldi tried them himself and felt a surge of energy. Over time, coffee plants made their way across the Red Sea to southern Arabia, where Sufi monks are believed to have brewed the first cups to stay awake for nighttime prayers.

Fast forward to today, and coffee has become a ritual for millions of people worldwide. In the U.S., coffee consumption has skyrocketed in recent years, with a 37% increase in adults drinking coffee daily compared to a decade ago. This is the highest rate of daily coffee consumption in over 20 years, according to the National Coffee Association (NCA).

So, grab your favorite mug and raise a toast to the drink that fuels mornings, inspires conversations, and brings people together!

  1. To celebrate I need a coffee now 🙂

  2. I gotta tell you it’s real hard to get a cup of coffee in Ridgewood, it’s only a few good places. And all the Delis serve, sheep, shitty coffee. And they know it, they tell me that they don’t make enough of money ridiculous.

    1. Your first mistake is going to a deli (any deli, anywhere) for coffee.

  3. That’s not true there are some Delis that serve pretty good coffee. Just none of them are in Ridgewood. I’m not saying that they are the same quality as coffeehouse, but 7-Eleven has better coffee than most delis around. That’s pre-screwed up.. And I drink coffee, so many different places.
