Cliffside Park NJ, a 15-year-old girl from Cliffside Park is recovering in the hospital after being struck by a car while sitting in a driveway in North Bergen on Tuesday afternoon. The incident, which occurred around 4:30 p.m., has left the community shaken.
North Bergen police Capt. Nicholas Galliano provided details about the incident on Wednesday. The collision took place near the intersection of Woodcliff Avenue and Palisade Plaza. According to Galliano, the teen was sitting on the ground and may have been in the driver’s blind spot when the accident happened.
Emergency responders quickly transported the girl to Hackensack University Medical Center. As of Wednesday, she was reported to be in stable condition. Authorities have not released the identities of either the victim or the driver involved.
Capt. Galliano stated that while the crash remains under investigation, it appears to have been a “tragic accident.” The North Bergen Police Department is continuing to gather information to understand the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
