People drive like maniacs in town. This amount of damaged did not happen doing 25 mph. Need enforcement. Randomly park police vehicles that are not in use as a deterrent around schools.
That is a chaotic little piece of road right there…
I saw a woman almost get flattened here the other morning crossing Godwin at Monroe. Naturally the driver had to screech off to demonstrate how inconvenienced they were at having to pay attention.
Recently there’s numerous accidents like this in the area! Why? Does smoking pot have an effect? Yes!
Oh boy, another unhinged village idiot. Pot? Seriously? We all know it’s the Freemasons.
Post of the day !
Put down the doughnuts and ticket the speeders. Balance the budget with ticket proceeds and not with tax increases. How many police officers does the Village have on staff and how many of those are actively out and about? Perhaps their utility should be reviewed and we should consider modest replacements with speed cameras. Money will adjust bad driving behavior.
I’ve said it before and will say it again, why is there not occasional police presence near the schools during pick up and drop off time? Their presence alone will slow down the cars. Cars drive 30-35 down the side streets when it is 5-10 min before elementary and middle school starts. That is the time that Ridgewood PD should be issuing warnings or tickets. The other drivers will see this and slow down. A radical idea, how about changing speed limit in school zones to 15 during these times, and then enforce it!
They should also ticket the helicopter parents blocking the roads in front of the schools
Well, as someone once pointed out here, according to a former member of the Ridgewood PD, they’re not interested in ticking off the locals with tickets because the PD ‘has a good thing going on here’ and they don’t want to mess that up.
According to a friend who is a former PD member, when residents complain about speeders, an enforcement radar cruiser is sent to the ‘problem area’. Inevitably, it turns out that most of the speeders are local residents of that area!
A Ridgewood cop once told me if they have to ticket everyone speeding they would not get anything else done
What a joke. What would that “anything else” be?
