Taxpayers were told several times in the past that water rates would likely double if the utility were ever sold to a private company like Veolia. This chart, provided by Ridgewood Water, suggests that statement was a complete fabrication. So, we were lied to, right?

Do you all realized at the town meeting, Ridgewood Water asked for 34 million dollars plus some additional monies for repairs, etc.
Sell the water company. Dump it. PLEASE
Someone needs to smarten up. Allendale sold their water utility for $18,000,000 (That’s Eighteen MILLION). Why the eff are we in the water business? It make NO SENSE, and we are always rationing.. Look for ways to monetize assets, look for ways to lower costs, this Village should and can be run far better. Do we really need all the cops we have? Do we need all of our Chiefs. Why can’t we regionalize services? Sell underutilized assets (Schedler, etc.) and do it now!!
Allendale water was already managed by SUEZ/Veolia. It was in the works for years.
We don’t need to pay supervisors to ride around and do zip. Put them to work on the back of a yard waste truck. Oh ‘ if they can do that job. (Right) totally not.
