Ridgewood NJ, it is being reported that multiple Ridgewood Firefighters have tested positive for COVID19  and it is being alleged that currently covid testing is being dissuaded by Village management with alleged threats to withhold health insurance payments for testing and sick days .

The Ridgewood blog recently reported the closure of the Twp. of Washington firehouse due to a COVID outbreak,  perhaps Village firefighters are worrying  the department may suffer the same fate .

While several other sources have raised fears of COVID spreading to other Village departments or even exposing elder residents in Ridgewood to the virus. The Village has recently announced closure  to the public of several Village facilities including the Village Hall and the Stable .

  1. well shut the building down.: Volunteers. Time to swallow your pride, and ask other towns to cover the great village.

  3. Ridgewood Fire putting others at risk doesn’t surprise me. Led by incompetent leadership, Heather’s pet. Anything to protect their paychecks, get their money from the taxpayers and run with it. Demand answers from them, why let this continue.

  4. We just seen on New Jersey news that they are testing water treatment plants now. They found coronavirus in the waste water. So that’s a big concern now. It’s definitely in the Sanitation recycling truck still. Those individuals are handling touching everything.

  6. Village offices closed, fire fighters potentially getting ill and the schools are still open??????. When the heck are we going to admit the Covid virus is air born, that there is no testing of anyone, staff or student at any of the Ridgewood schools, while we continue to count the number of infected individuals connected to the school system rise. As reported yesterday by Murphy’s own admin regarding contact tracing validity , the Village Health contact tracer surely is not being told the absolute truth in the majority of contact tracing cases she has conducted because the good people of Ridgewood don’t want to publicly say what we all know to be a fact, namely, that some of them are being irresponsible parents in time of a health crisis.

  7. So very true, every village employee should be mandatory testing for Covid. They are testing Water at Water Pollution Plant‘s now. Are they testing the water at the village water pollution plant yet. what about testing the village sanitation and recycling trucks that pick up all of our refuge every single day that we just throw out. Can you imagine. Are these vehicles being properly cleansed and disinfected properly. ???????????

  8. This is very dangerous this is why Washington Township shut down their volunteer fire department. It’s time for the mayor council and management to get together and test every employee immediately. Unnoticed should run through all departments that if any individual is not feeling well please stay home go to the doctor get tested. Why is this a long process. It’s just common sense. We need communication throughout this village immediately.

  9. To the Board of Health. They Need to have an emergency meeting in the Village Immediately regarding this issue. They need to do whatever they have to do to control it. There are ways to do so .

  15. Yes what is the plan . What is being done with the dept.

  16. We hope the Mayor and council Inform us the residents regarding what is being done with the fire and EMTs.

  17. Any one know yet .

  18. Can someone explain why I should worry about Covid on sanitation trucks? Aren’t these trucks supposed to be filthy anyway? Isn’t it trash after all and all sorts of germs are supposed to be in there? Same with firetrucks. If someone shows up at my home he/she will have a mask on and so will I. Stop creating unnecessary headaches. Don’t you have enough already?

  19. Mayor, what happens if their is a fire or we need EMT? Do they have COVID? What is the contingency plan? I thought you were all about “transparency”?!

  20. What is this person talking about are you out of your mind. So what you’re saying is it’s OK that the Sanitation trucks recycling trucks or any other trucks are kept filthy. Are you drinking way too much wine. Stop it,Yourself so stupid
