Ridgewood NJ , “Dads Night” responds to all the public acrimony over the pro turf RBSA email that went out on their email list.

The problem is the email has already gone out tarnishing the “Dads Night” organization . It’s not the first time a non-partisan email in the Village of Ridgewood has been used for partisan purposes . And since there are never any consequences , it will happen again .

Frankly the RBSA should have apologized and then should have been banned from the “Dads Night List” , otherwise the organization faces the prospect of  continued diminished status, like many other formally respectable organizations in town.

As for us , when relief pitcher  Tug McGraw was asked if he liked astro turf he said, “I don’t know, I’ve never smoked the stuff.” Baseball is meant to played on grass not on a plastic carpet.

email:

“Dear Dads’ Night Community,

It has come to our attention that an email was mistakenly approved for distribution by the moderators. We apologize for any confusion or inconvenience this may have caused.

The content of the email in question was not intended to represent the stance of Dads’ Night regarding the issue of field construction. Dads’ Night remains neutral on such matters, understanding that individual opinions and decisions vary within our community.

We urge those who shared the email on social media platforms to consider posting this retraction to ensure clarity. Dads’ Night is committed to fostering positivity and unity within our town and community.

Moving forward, let us focus on highlighting the positive contributions Dads’ Night makes to our community, rather than engaging in divisive discussions.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Mike”

  1. Stop! As if they didn’t know Muller, the president of the RBSA, was going to send out a pro Schedler petition to the Dad’s night email distribution.

  3. I would like to know who approved use of this email distribution list. Unfortunately, this does not shed any light on who is responsible for allowing this and what steps will be taken to ensure that this does not happen again. Seems like a huge privacy issue.

              1. you mean point out how some people in town can get away with anything ? again that’s why the quality of life in the village has dropped off so significantly , Ridgewood went from “the town” to “a town” , its a big difference and very sad

                1. If you think Ridgewood is so awful, feel free to move to another town. You can take your “blog” with you.

  6. DN is an amazing organization of volunteers which (unlike certain for-personal-profit local entities) actually does concrete good for the community rather than just stir up trouble.

One accidental letting out of the door of an email that frankly lots of people don’t care about isn’t going to diminish anything. DN was around long before TRB and will be around long after it.

    2. That mentality that nothing horrible happened misses the point entirely. It is a clear misuse of power. If you even have the slightest inkling that an action you are taking may be slightly improper but do it anyway, it speaks volumes as to the character of the person. Obviously this person took the cheaters way out and attempted to rachet up the numbers on their petition. Couldn’t he have simply done this the honest way? Seems like he is okay with a data breach and I wonder how he would feel is someone got a hold of the RBSA parents personal emails and blasted something out.

    3. I think what is horrible is that you didn’t understand the irony of what you were saying.

      snow·flake [ˈsnōˌflāk] informal derogatory
an overly sensitive or easily offended person, or one who believes they are entitled to special treatment. ex. “these parents think their kid is such a special snowflake that they should be allowed to circumvent the rules”

Special treatment and circumventing the rules is exactly what happened here is it not. I adore the correlation. Thank you.

  9. terrible cowards in this town , no wonder its gone down hill so much

  12. the same dopes who pushed the turf at RHS want to turf shedler

  13. This clearly disingenuous apology just makes DN look like even bigger d-bags. Fail.

    1. yeah, like you’ve done anything to improve this town. Keep typing, keyboard baby.

  14. I think what he did on behalf of RBSA is really bad and just shows really pathetic lapse in judgement, however what I believe is even more troubling is the video someone posted on RW social media page of him telling the community that turf is safe and that if it wasn’t, manufacturers would not be making it. What?!??? So he is supposed to be leading a sports organization and this is way worse than using an email list for somewhat fraudulent purposes. Turf is in no way safe for your kids now that valuable information is coming to light. This dubious turd is ignorant and leading Ridgewood parents down the primorose path with his uneducated opinions. That is the real travesty here.

    1. Not only does Muller know jacksh*t about turf and promotes its safety in a public setting, but this complete moron wanted to rename the property the 911 memorial park and said to call it “anything but Schedler”. Being big man on campus must be an exhausting job.

  15. the leadership in this town sucks at being crooks

  16. Watch the April 12th council meeting ladt year. Here’s what Muller, President of RBSA had to say:

“Le’s talk about turf PFAS, believe it or not, artificial turf has been around since 1964, so don’t you think that something so diabolical as turf causing cancer or defects in children for the past 57 years, wouldn’t you think the government would have pulled the product by now?

I don’t know about you, but this guy is just begging for us to figure out what is going on behind the scenes. It is out of a movie and you can’t look away. 2024, with mefical materials and proven research and still idiots walk amongst us to create a prophecy of potential doom for generations of kids.
