Despite diatribes from Councilperson Siobhan Winograd, no evidence exists that anyone from Ridgewood falsified an application to NJDEP

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Councilperson Siobhan Winograd went on endlessly during two recent Village Council meetings about the issue of an allegedly falsified application to the NJDEP.

Most residents who heard what the Councilperson said were left with the distinct impression that a Ridgewood resident was responsible for submitting the allegedly falsified document (a box indicating Village Manager Keith Kazmark had signed off on the application was checked, when in fact Mr. Kazmark had not signed off on the application).

The staff of The Ridgewood Blog has now learned that the application in question was submitted by a resident of another Bergen County municipality, who has no connection to any Ridgewood based organization, formal or informal.

Unfortunately, even though they know who is responsible for the “checked box,” neither Ms. Winograd nor any other member of the Village Council has thus far offered a formal apology to the resident group that was targeted by the Councilperson’s October 25th remarks.

It is a mystery to our staff as to why the name of the individual involved in this fiasco, for which others took initial blame, is not released publicly so this embarrassing mess can be put to bed once and for all. Someone on the dais just doesn’t seem willing to admit making a huge mistake.

  1. Lost me at Councilperson…

    1. She looks tired….again.

  2. foot and mouth disease

  3. Well, that it would only be a few people that would fill the application out anyway. And I’m sure it wouldn’t be a mayor or a council member .

  4. She’s as dumb as Kamala Harris.

    1. At least kamala cackles here and then. This one is stone cold and can never squeeze any emotion through a frozen face.

  5. Can she be held liable?

  6. This post doesn’t make any sense. Did someone file an application on behalf of the Village? And did the new VM make a comment as to why his name was checked as approved?

    1. A nameless person allegedly filed an application with NJDEP on behalf of the Village that reportedly indicated a sign off by the Village Manager.

  7. She was so accusatory and falsely so. I just watched it last night. My takeaway is that she wants her own two trees to get this designation and she will trample on anyone who gets in her way.

  8. It is called “I will lie to make people believe my narrative” disease. Again and again. It needs to stop. Matt also made this sound like a horrible crime when he was reading from their manufactured script. And Keith being embarrased! get over yourselves. You are on the council and in Keith’s case, employed by the village. It is not about you. when you realize that maybe you can actually start doing your jobs.

    1. It’s ALL about Paul, Keith is all smoke and mirrors, Matt well he is another story. Wine O Grad should step down and Even is just a vote that is all

  9. When is this episode of Punked over?

  10. I love watching these idiots fall apart.

  11. I can’t believe Mrs. Due Diligence was wrong. She’s never wrong.

    1. Actually she is wrong most of the time. So much for due diligence. She voted for the shady consultant and was even his “informant” on all historical things related to Ridgewood (his words) and Siobahn even picked him up at the train station before embarking on the grand tour of our fair village in order to cast doubt on any historic significance of said property where said ball field is proposed. I wonder if she extends this courtesy to other contractors who are doing work for the village or just the shady historic consultant?

  12. Very sad of what our village has become. The entire council should be fired!! Every single one of them

    1. not Lorraine, please

and “firing” council members is a lot harder than it may seem

  13. Sending thoughts and prayers.

  14. It appeared to be some glitch not a diabolical scheme. So why then take a technical snafu and blow it out of proportion like it was. Not a plot to deceive the village which is what Matt, Siobahn and Keith would have wanted everyone to believe until some of their lies were exposed. Why turn this into an investigation likened to Watergate. These idiots boldly stating they knew nothing about it (LIE) and were blidsided (LIE) as it is clear that they were listed on the cc for the emails. What benefit does lying achieve. Once again Ridgewood is like a comedy and a tragedy of elizathan proportions.

  15. Speaking of shady business … the CBD’s recycling stopped getting picked up during COVID leaving businesses to pay for their own pick up. Where have the thousands of dollars of their property taxes that were supposed to be for recycling pick up been allocated to the past 3 years and Why has this never been discussed publicly?

    1. What about the 4 million dollars that was allocated to Feed the Frontlines? who did that goto, were businesses and restaurants selectively chosen? who was fed? where? What about the Mayor’s “alleged” $47k mortgage loan to Richard Brooks and Gail Price. What about the fact that the Outfront Media billboard was brought to Ridgewood by Gail Price and where the mayor would benefit as a business owner. So many topics, so little time.

      1. Still wondering where the 4 million went I know it was given to healthbarn USA at Habernickel park but where did it go from there? It was all over public media when the big checks were accepted at Habernickel. What did healthbarn do with NJ tax payers money?

      2. Follow the dental floss

    2. Who’ll buy the movie rights?

      1. Maybe CBS. They are already on speedial.

    3. If you have residential properties attached to your business the town is required to do garbage and recycling pick up.

I have a building in the CBD with four residential tenants and we have the village pick up recycling and trash for them. I have one barrel from waste management for my commercial tenants.

  16. The attack on one resident of Schedler who did everything right was terrible. “Big” Tree vs “Heritage “ tree to give room to criticize??
And not all council members should go.. Ms Reynolds is only sane voice.

We need some folks to run against Paul and Pam next November…
In the meantime there should be a time limit on Ms W incessant comments about everything!
That is what extends the meetings, not residents.

  17. Who did she accuse and has she publicly apologized

  18. To my fellow residents, the villages so dirty. They make Hudson county look like Boy Scouts. It’s one scam after the next this is been going on for years. We told you the mayor council manager, and a few others up top they all sleep in the same bed, that’s why they have closed door sessions.

  19. Tempest in a teapot. This is an idiom meaning a small event that has been exaggerated out of proportion. That is what happened here. Waste of time and resources and in my opinion, it was spearheaded by this nutcase.
