Details Emerge on Teaneck Crash that Killed 92-year-old Man

Teaneck NJ, on June 28th the Ridgewood blog  reported that the Bergen County Prosecutor  was investigating a crash in Teaneck that resulted in the death of a 92-year-old man Albert Schnellbacker .

The Ridgewood blog has come into possession of the official Teaneck Police Department Report, Case Number 22-036206 along with the State of New Jersey Police Crash Investigation Report NJTR-1 to interpret the Police Report for this specific crash.

According to accident report Mr. Schnellbacker was driving a  2008 Chevy Equinox . After stopping at a stop sign where he entered the intersection of Windsor Road and Blaircliffe Road  attempting to make a right turn onto Windsor Road .  According to a statement from Scott Lieberman the driver of 2022 Ferrari F8 , Mr. Lieberman was unable to avoid a collision and subsequentially struck  Schnellbacker’s SUV. The collision  was fatal  with Mr. Schnellbacker being pronounced dead at the hospital .

Michelle Lainez the passenger in Mr. Lieberman’s car suffered knee, lower leg and foot injuries while the driver Mr. Lieberman suffered elbow , lower arm and hand injuries .  The accident report implies that Mr. Schnellbacker had no contributing circumstances to the accident , Mr. Lieberman contributing circumstances were driving at an unsafe speed  and driver Inattention.

Due to the fatality, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the accident and as soon as they finalize their findings and submit their report, we’ll know if any charges will be forthcoming against the driver of Vehicle 2 (Ferrari F8), Scott Lieberman.

In a statement to the Ridgewood blog Eric Schnellbacher the son of Albert Schnellbacker said , “my father although 92 was of sound mind and good physical condition.  He was a great husband to my mom and a wonderful father, grandfather and great grandfather.  He was a dedicated family man and will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him”
