Ridgewood NJ, Just one day after an announcement of stage 2 water restrictions ,does the Village’s water utility own 2 small boats, or are some of the utility’s employees now being permitted to store their personal property on land owned by the utility? Roberta, are you on this?

  1. Sell the Water Company.

  2. It ok poster those are lifeboats because The Village of Ridgewood is sinking.

  3. Roberta is not on it. She is holed up writing her resume

  4. Coin Boy bought those…

  5. Maybe the Village now owns a lake that our breath of fresh air manager never told anyone about.

  6. The boats are used to patrol Graydon Pool.

  7. So if a boat is damaged, destroyed, or stolen while on Village property, the owner’s insurance company will sue and water company customers will be on the hook. Poor management strikes again.

  8. maybe we will use the water company properties for additional parking revenues.

  9. All private property should be removed no questions asked.

  10. The boats belong to water department employees stored on village property at no charge. This is another fine example of union thugs stealing from village residents.

  11. So let me ask a question to all the Private Sector poster on this blog to include Roberta who say that Government should be run like the private sector. Here it goes. What happens in the private sector when you have a supplier or division that cannot meet the supply of the parent company because of inefficiency, incompetence, antiqued infrastructure,or not enough room for that division or supplier to expand? Does the parent company continue to throw money at that division or supplier knowing that it past, record shows that they cannot keep up with the demand. Or does the parent company cut their losses and sell that division or find a new supplier.

  12. Can anyone take advantage of off site parking for boats, RVs and trucks?

  13. No 9:51 Paul A is going to come out with a statement that if we had listen to him and built a 5 deck parking garage it would have paid for itself AND we would have money left over to supplement the water utility

  14. It is outrageous that employees of Ridgewood Water are using its property to store, for free, their boats. It is not their property and no-one who works for the utility has any authority to give such permission.

  15. Let’s build a garage on the water utility property. Oops, I forgot the water utility employees would fill it up with their personal vehicles and boats.

  16. Wow – Water Company must pay well for its employees to own boats.
Maybe we should raise the water rates again so they can afford summer houses to store those boats.

  17. This is such a stupid issue.

  18. Can taxpayers take advantage of this perk?

  19. You must be one of those boat owners 12:05

  20. Just goes to show you that you can’t get away with anything now a days…Big Brother is in trouble because we’re watching you. If they are not removed by Monday we need to have another vote next Tuesday to see if these should be allowed? While I’m here, has anyone noticed of many roads in town that need more Band-Aids? Can we also vote to have Vag’s wall taken down like Germany’s (sledgehammers) All in favor we are meeting after hours bring hammers, snowplows, and battering rams!

  21. The two boats stored in Midland park on Ridgewood property one is owned by the director of operations and has not moved in years.the other believe it or not is owned by an employee that was fired months ago.just happens to be the son of the former head of Ridgewood water. Midland parks code official should make them remove them.cheap storage.

  22. Roberta is going to fix water department this year, just like she fixed the building department last year. Building department has four new employees, the permit fee is doubled, and it still takes same ‘weeks’ amount of time to get a new permit. She increased the budgets and spending but did not fix anything.

  23. Who cares?

  24. 12:05, 4:04…if James doesn’t run the story, who will? TRN? Patch? Too many double standards in town.

  25. 4:04pm, taxpayers do, and they will kick you out.

  26. One boat has seemed to set sail wonder where it’s docked now
