Madison NJ, idyllic Drew University is taking a film production company and its partners to court on claims that the company never paid the more than $130,000 it owes for filming on campus last January.
The university, is a popular spot for movie shoots, and numerous scenes for “The Choices We Make,” an as-yet unreleased feature film, were filmed on campus .
Executive producer Traci Bransford of Houston-based Meadowcrest Films had previously signed an agreement on behalf of Meadowcrest and national film production company Think Global Media Group to film on campus from Jan. 15 to Feb. 1, according to a lawsuit filed in state Superior Court in Morristown on Wednesday, Oct. 5. That agreement listed the fees that would be associated with filming at Drew.To date, none of the $130,252 has been received, according to the lawsuit.
