Paramus NJ, a serious collision on Monday morning, August 19, resulted in the hospitalization of a driver after their vehicle crashed into a utility pole and a tree on Pascack Road in Paramus.
The driver, behind the wheel of an older model Ford Explorer, was traveling southbound in the 800 block of Pascack Road when the vehicle veered off the roadway. The SUV collided head-on with a utility pole, snapping it in half, before continuing into a large shade tree, which ultimately brought the vehicle to a halt.
Paramus Police Department and Paramus EMS quickly responded to the scene, and the driver was transported by ambulance to Hackensack University Medical Center’s main campus for treatment. The extent of the driver’s injuries has not been disclosed.
The force of the impact left the vehicle severely damaged, requiring a flatbed tow truck to remove the wreckage. The collision also led to the closure of Pascack Road later in the morning, as crews worked to replace the downed utility pole and clear the area.
