Ridgewood NJ, Despite objections voiced by local residents to Ridgewood Village Manager Heather Mailander, and to members of the Ridgewood Village Council, heavily loaded tandem axle dump trucks are being permitted to use portions of South Broad Street that are primarily residential as a travel route to and from the former Brogan Cadillac site, which is now undergoing demolition in preparation for the start of high density housing construction. The Village had considered the temporary removal of a speed hump in order to reduce the likelihood of noise and foundation damaging vibrations, but as these photos (taken on 06/28) indicate, that did not happen.
What’s the alternative? Send them through the CBD? An airlift?
Ridgewood is a joke.
Well 8:21 maybe it would have been a good idea to notify the resident along the route of the following. Dates that route will begin and end. Operation time of the truck traffic. Who to contact with any complaints. Common courtesy from this council to all Ridgewod residents has been lacking. I guess its goes by what neighborhood you live in.
Right, i I think they’re doing a fantastic job with removal of the old Cadilac building. The old buildings on that land came down very quietly and Clean .
So the council said they would do something and instead did nothing. Shocking.
1:08. Correction Rutishauser said he would do something and he didn’t. He’s in charge and he as usual, ignored what the residence demanded. And he ignored what the Council told him to do, he should be fired.
Bike Lane Rutisauser leads a charmed life.
Speaking of the bike lane to nowhere, didn’t the police department recommend portions be removed and didn’t the Village Council pass a resolution to have the work done? Well, it’s still there.
Please don’t remove the bike lane yet. After all these years, I want to see someone actually use it. Right now, it’s the bike lane to nowhere for no-one.
I thought the speed bumps were going to be temporarily removed and later replaced, all at the expense of the developer. If that didn’t happen it’s a crime and a shame. They should also pay to repave the street when they’re done, because it’s going to be a mess. I greatly resent the prospect of paying for it through property taxes when they are making a fortune on our backs and destroying the town.
Rutisauser is the main dog the council love him. The talk in village hall is he may be the next manager.
11:19, please let that be “fake news”! Even more people would flee town if that happens. Basically he seems to be a nice guy but the ideas he’s been coming up with lately are worse than ludicrous.
No matter who repaves the streets in this town when they are done ripping them up – does a horrible job! Patch work at best and it never lasts or maybe just long enough until the dig them up again
