Ridgewood NJ, Mayor Susan Knudsen has announced that Ridgewood’s 2021 Independence Day Parade will take place on Monday, July 5th.
According to Mayor Knudsen, this year’s parade theme will be “Stronger Together.” Parade participants will adhere to social distancing guidelines and paper masks will be provided to help ensure safety.
Consideration had been given to shortening the parade route this year. However, based upon feedback received from residents that such a move could create crowding conditions, the parade will travel its regular, full route.
There will be NO FIREWORKS this year.
More details will be posted on the official July 4th Committee’s web site as they become available.

Why are we celebrating the 4th of July on the 5th of July?
When the 4th falls on a Sunday, Monday is always the official government holiday.
Seems like from a safety and social distancing perspective, it would be better to keep the fireworks and skip the parade?
I have my own fireworks. Oh and I will blow them off.
