Ridgewood NJ, according to Councilwoman Bernadette Walsh, who is the Village Council liaison to the Parks & Rec Conservation Board and the Field Committee, the Parks & Recreation Department is happy to announce that Summer Day Camp will return this year.  While there may still be some changes to the camp, we can confirm that it will run from Tuesday, June 29-Friday, August 6 from 9 am-1:30 pm with the exception of days when it rains and camp is cancelled.  Campers will be placed in groups with a 20:2 ratio or less.  Summer Camp will still consist of organized games, arts & crafts, and swim time at Graydon Pool.

All campers must be in possession of a Graydon membership. Graydon memberships are being sold at a discounted rate until April 30.

At this time, all campers will be asked to wear a mask (and have an extra) for instances when social distancing cannot be achieved, walking from facility to facility, entering the Graydon facility, and for any indoor locations.  Masks will not have to be worn when outdoors in the heat, during physical activity, and when in the water.

In 2021, due to Covid, transportation busing will not be available this year.  Instead, campers will be dropped off at either Maple Park or Graydon Pool South locations prior to camp to process through a mandatory Covid check-in.  In addition, we will not be bringing campers to swim lessons at the end of camp.  All campers will be dismissed to their guardian.  Further details on drop off and dismissal assignments and policies and procedures will be outlined in the Camper Parent’s Manual for distribution when updated.

Registration will begin on April 26 and close June 15. A $50 late fee will be added to all registrations after June 16.  Waitlist will be enacted once capacity is hit.  If space becomes available, campers will be released from the waitlist and payment will be due at that point.  All non-residents will be wait-listed to give residents priority.  If state guidance allows, and space is available, non-resident campers will be accepted.

Registration for the Graydon Summer Day Camp can be found on Community Pass, (www.ridgewoodnj.net/communitypass) under the heading “Village of Ridgewood Summer Day Camp” next to the Summer Day Camp icon.

August Mini Camps will also open registration on April 26.  This registration will remain open until camp is full or a week before camp begins.  Wait lists will be activated once maximum capacity is hit.  Non-residents may register if space allows and an additional $10 fee will apply.

A complete list of camps with camp descriptions can be found in the attached document, on the recreation webpage www.ridgewoodnj.net/recreation and Community Pass Registration page.

Registration for these camps can be found on Community Pass under the heading “Village Parks & Recreation” next to the icon of children playing outside.

When registering on Community Pass (www.ridgewoodnj.net/communitypass), you must click the orange tab that says “Register Now” for the program you are looking for.

  6. Oh that outhouse is disgusting. That definitely needs to be cleaned a few times a week. The Porta John looks like a horse backs into it and shits all over the place.
