Ridgewood NJ, a strong frontal system will cross the region Tonight into early Friday morning. Strong to damaging wind gusts are expected ahead of and immediately in the wake of the cold frontal passage. The National Weather Service has issued a WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 11 PM THIS EVENING TO 10 AM EST FRIDAY. Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected. Impacting portions of northeast New Jersey, southern Connecticut. and southeast New York. From 11 PM this evening to 10 AM EST Friday. Strong winds will blow around unsecured objects. Scattered tree limbs, and a few trees and powerlines could be blown down. A few power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
Rainfall: 1/2 to 1” likely, with locally 1 to 1 ¼” possible, Tonight into early Fri AM. Most of this falling in 3 to 6 hrs. Peak rainfall rates: <1/2”/hr. Impacts: Minor urban and poor drainage flooding is possible. Localized ice jam flooding is possible across interior rivers and streams. Minor flooding possible along a few quick reacting rivers and streams in North East NJ
