Paul Vagianos loaned her family $47,000 (“baby?”). As previously reported on the Ridgewood blog, Ridgewood Mayor Paul Vagianos lent $47K to an attorney whose firm represents a Zoning Board of Adjustment applicant, that attorney is Gail Price.
Ridgewood Mayor Paul Vagianos and spouse Jean Bogle currently hold a mortgage on a residential property in Ridgewood whose owners owe $69,599.96 to the Village in back property taxes. The most recent payment from the owner was received by the Village’s tax collector on 9/26/23.

It’s this century version of the Rat Pack. Peewee, Fast Eddie, softball coach that moved to Fla., etc.
We let them run the town.
Maybe not for much longer
“Baby” maybe this says it all. Vagianos lent them money. A large sum with interest. That doesn’t seem like baby to me. That sounds like putting baby in the corner.
Either they are having an affair
OR
This is a case of Sexual Harassment / Hostile Workplace.
Can’t pay the taxes in ridgewood, but we can still own a shore house! Lawyers are scum.
I think we have our Post of the Day !
“Miss you both?” “baby?” Oh boy. A public post too? I guess they just don’t care that everybody knows what’s going on.
At last count, they owe Ridgewood about 70 grand.
How long can they defer paying taxes?
Why are these people not paying taxes and no one is doing anything because they are friends of the Mayor? I don’t understand this at all. Does the Tax Collector get involved?
Can we all not pay for a few months
Allegedly, that is what Vagianos had to say when it was discovered that he had actually loaned $47,000.00 plus 10% interest to Gail Price and Rich Brooks. He had Matt Rogers write a statement which he read at one of the village council meetings. Except it wasn’t alleged, it was a signed and notarized document by another resident in Ridgewood. Additionally, Matt Rogers used to work for Gail Price’s law firm where she is a partner, so everyone is connected in this scenario. I guess If that billboard ever circles back, then perhaps residents might begin to believe that perhaps this was a payment and not a loan. It is anyone’s guess.
A clever bunch of dirtbags….no pun intended.
Maybe they were around toxic dirt too much. They used the free contaminated dirt to level their own yards. Now look. Brain dead
Not only a close personal relationship between Mayor Vagianos but the husband is the the Chairperson of the Parks and recreation and conservation committee. How is the Attorney General not getting involved? How is this ethical? This is truly scary and despite Vagianos saying he could loan money to whoever he wants to, it is just in really poor taste wouldn’t you say? He also said it wasn’t anyone’s business and had his friend, also friend to the couple and used to work for the law partner’s firm, write some BS blurb. Ok. Loans and lies. How do you walk around town with your head held high
Doesn’t the Vag owe taxes of his own? Past due?
It Bogles my mind you would suggest Vags is delinquent on his residential property taxes when anyone can do a quick lookup on the line and see the taxes are current.
He is still a loser though, I think that much is clear.
Hahaha. Yes
I read he was behind on business taxes. Somewhere
Umm…it’s ‘boggles’….
Thought his spouse was Bogles?
Gale Price is Married to Richard Brooks
It’s scary to think how many people in Ridgewood don’t know and even worse, don’t care. so New Jersey politics, state of “gold bar” bob menendez
Not paying your taxes is unfair to everyone . Taxes go to essential services and this puts a strain on the municipal budget. Even if they have to pay extra because of fines, it is just wrong. If you can’t afford to live here then maybe it is time to move.
Sometimes life happens and we can’t pay our bills. I believe Rich Brooks had a serious medical illness during the time they fell behind. It could happen to any of us. You never know someone’s personal finances. I am sure they don’t want to be dragged through the mid by their “neighbors”
are you sure it wasn’t the lawsuit against their law practice they lost
Correct you do not know what competing priorities there are, for example do you paint the house, remove dead trees, fix broken sidewalks, buy/lease new luxury cars, keep taxes current, support multiple homes, post catfishing items on facebook.
Sorry that is a copout. If you cannot afford to live somewhere, then it is time to scale back. If you an’t afford something you don’t buy it. it is maturity and restraint. If you can’t afford to pay your bills, mortgage, taxes, then move and go somewhere that you can afford. The charade is too much.
