Teaneck NJ, the Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco celebrated an incredible year of college basketball on the banks of the Hackensack! The 2022-2023 season was historic for both the men’s and women’s teams who each won over 20+ games. The FDU Lady Knights set a regular season record for most wins in a season and took home the Northeast Conference season championship.
FDU Men’s Basketball was also remarkable, achieving one of the greatest turnarounds in NCAA history. After only winning four games last season, the Knights became the first 16-seed to win two games in the NCAA Tournament and pulled off a Cinderella upset over #1-seed Purdue.
Congratulations to Coach Szumilo and Coach Anderson on two outstanding seasons this year! Looking forward to what the future brings! Go Knights!!!
