Ridgewood Nj, Just got word that FISH in Ridgewood has closed . Fish was located at 54 East Ridgewood Avenue.
Patrons of seafood restaurant have been greeted by a sign in the window that they will be spending the summer upgrading their catering venues.

Their Facebook page has gone missing and phone number is no longer working. The Fish in Asbury Park closed back in October and at that time rumors were denied by Fishes management of an imminent closing.

Patrons were general lukewarm to the venue not bad but not great and as previously reported on this blog the restaurant was surrounded by controversy from the very start

  1. We need a parking garage . NOW. ASAP. Big and beautiful.

  2. The closure countdown clock was ticking the moment it opened. The math was just not there.

  3. Har har harde har har….11:13 is absolutely right. And now their going to tell us it’s an update to the catering? Really? Your going to close a restaurant for 3 months? How do you do that John? The math doesn’t work. Your experiment didn’t work. Buying the former mayor didn’t work. Everything is crumbling all around you and your stooges. Now, as soon a Greek to Me tanks…and you know that’s right around the corner…

  4. Major reset needed to save the real working Cafe district behind fish and aside the train (from Garazilla2) established smaller Restaurants .lets pave the surface lots now folks . Maintaining the current sunlight and protection from mega out of towner train parking discharge traffic matters over there too.people live over there ,Churches and Schools operate over there as well for goodness sake.

  5. The bar was good for happy hour specials

  6. Place was just no good – – people will over pay for mediocrity only for so long. And, so long, Fish – what was it Franklin said, Visitors and Fish smell after three days?

  7. And/Or they are planning to open a banquet hall, requiring 200+ parking spots 52 Saturday nights per year.

Which they will once again demand the town build for them.

Once the banquet hall is built next they will “require” a hotel to be built in town for all of the out of town wedding guests.

Hotel will also require 200+ parking spots – but those will be for 2 nights a week (104)

    That will be their math.

My math is simpler – your want it, you pay for it, stop trying to spend MY money

Don’t think for a minute they are going to leave town quietly.

Something is going on, fishy to me (pun intended)

  8. I ate there twice. Average, overpriced food and bad service both times. Fool me once….

  9. they have some big rain bow flag on top of the building today, wow .

  10. No place to park

  11. So I see Park West Loft can now host parties up to 175 people. So essentially a wedding venue in the middle of Ridgewood? Did I read incorrectly or is this correct?

  12. They had valet paking

That would be a great catering hall, except the valets would not be able to keep up

  13. The venue was never right. It is a cool building but it was so cavernous which gave it a weird vibe.
Like others have said, the bar was nice and had good happy hour specials….not enough to survive.
The building needs to be cut up or redesigned. Even when it was a bank, the space was too much.
Anybody have any good ideas on what we would like to see take over this space and hopefully prosper without having to build a huge garage???

  14. Whatever it is it must be a private venture. Fish tried and failed, let the next private investor try something better.

Please, no suggestions for a village owned venue. We have enough boondoggles. Our taxes are too high.

  15. 7.27 is 100 percent correct.this crybaby agenda from the businesses is crap.If they don’t make it too bad.If I loose my job due technology are they stopping by with a fat check for my contunued operation.?…..No…..we have survived vacant stores before..
Worlds changed..let move on pave some damm streets…CBD IS LIKE NEWARK pothole and demolition derby driving just to get through town for an average shopping errands ..

  16. They should have stayed in Asbury Park. I tried to tell the owner this is Rudgewood. People want good service and good food. Know your customers and they will come back.
She wouldnt listen. The bar was great good happy hour and bartenders.
