Ridgewood NJ, on Friday Ford Motor announced it is recalling 870,000 F-150 trucks in the United States because of the risk of an unexpected activation of the electric parking brake due to a potential wiring issue.

The recall covers 2021 through 2023 model year F-150 trucks, according to a filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). It covers trucks equipped with a single exhaust system. Contact with the rear axle housing may damage the wiring harness, causing the electric parking brake to activate unexpectedly, the automaker said.

Ford said it is not aware of crashes or injuries related to the recall. Dealers will install a protective tie strap, tape wrap and replace the harness as necessary.

  1. Ford, found on road dead. Such an overrated truck. And the government just gave them around 6 billion to build an electric charging system. Politics.

  2. Yes, Ford sells a lot of trucks, but that doesn’t mean any thing. That just means they sell a lot doesn’t mean they’re the best. Ford had a lot of recalls on their vehicles in the past year. And the very expensive. I do know the new bronco has a lot of problems, engine, problems, front end, problems, and I think it’s just way too much electronics.

      1. Wrong . . . best selling vehicle in the world is a Toyota Corolla followed by the Toyota RAV4. The Ford F-series trucks come in 3rd.

So people who want TRUCKS buy the Ford F-series pick-ups.

        1. WRONG

So, you mean he has the real thing?

Are you a graduate of the Ridgewood school system?

  4. Ford has had a long history of problems. Anyone remember the Ford Pinto? Don’t rear end one of those.
