Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Village Manager Keith Kazmark called out a foreign born, minority homeowner by name during Wednesday night’s Village Council meeting. He defended his public release of the projected tax increase on the individual’s private home with this comment: “[Resident’s name] was one of the most vocal people in this case in the last few days.”
The Ridgewood Blog now wonders if every resident who speaks up in opposition to Vagianos administration actions/policies is somehow targeted for retribution. Wow! What ever happened to freedom of speech? Will armed police officers with dogs soon be a fixture at every Village Council meeting? Holy mackerel!

Saurabh Dani has been subjected to ridiculous amounts of harassment. He is an honest, super intelligent, generous, kind man. I just listened to what the Village Manager said. What a nasty prick that guy is. Did he actually think we would believe that Mr Dani could not calculate his tax increase? Did he not understand that Saurabhs concerns about the hidden tax increase is about transparency, and not concerns for his own pocketbook. Kazmark, you fool no one. You have been enormously outsmarted by Mr Dani and you are being creepily vindictive in response.
As having been bullied by the town engineer myself and a victim of Kazmarks double talk I believe the residence should all seriously take a hard look at what is going on. We are losing our village and parks and rights. What can be done. This is going too far?!?

I also just watched the replay of the council meeting. It doesn’t seem fair for the village manager to treat someone like this. So what if the guy posted about not understanding the budget and taxes. No one in this village understands it, but what sets Mr. Dani apart is that he kicks the tires and asks critical questions that no one else seems to be doing, or very few. These really intelligent guys get to the crux of the matter which appears to be a smoke show put on by the village. How can you factor in over 200 million dollars that is not guaranteed especially in light of the fact that the hospital is going to push back, sue and this could take years if we even see a dime of of them. Kazmark instead gets pissed off because his ego clearly cannot handle being challenged. It is extremely unprofessional and needs to be stopped.

Like this should be grounds for firing. I mean this guy works for us and obviously the resistants are way smarter than he is. Why should we just follow along. It’s our mo way at stake not his. He doesn’t even live here or pay the taxes.

Wow! Can this be reported? Calling out an individual resident by name in a public meeting is inappropriate and intimidating. Officials should address concerns without making personal attacks.

Transparency in government doesn’t mean airing private details about residents. This is a deliberate attempt to discourage community checks and balances.

A current member of the Village Council is said to have filed an incident report with the police department because she felt uncomfortable about comments Mr. Dani made during a meeting of the now defunct Community Relations Advisory Board.

This same member of the Village Council flatly denied that she ever took took part in a public demonstration outside of the Board of Education administration offices in support of then schools superintendent, Daniel Fishbein. Fortunately, Boyd Loving took many photographs of her standing in front of the administration building, holding a large sign in support of Dr. Fishbein.

This is very alarming behavior on the part of the Village Manager. And the Council is complicit. No one – NO ONE – stopped him from calling out Mr. Dani’s tax bill which he evidently had looked up. I guess this is public information, but for Kazmark to be googling Dani’s home address and whether he pays his taxes and what his tax bill will go up and then to ANNOUNCE this during his commentary (diatribe) is unbelievably intrusive. This was completly uncalled for.
Watch the clip 2:30:28 mark. Kazmark admits that of all the residents, he singled out Dani because he was the most vocal. He takes up meeting time to defend and double down on his wrongful actions. Kazmark’s actions are a blatant attack on free speech. If this is how dissenters are treated, we’re no longer living in a democracy but a dictatorship in the making.
This behavior from the Village Manager is nothing short of bullying. Using your position to publicly target a resident for speaking out is an abuse of power and a disgrace to public office.
Good thing is Kazmark never lasts long in any job so hopefully he’ll be gone soon.

Parsippany’s Business Administrator (2020) his municipal clerk was arrested, charged and placed under court supervision for breaking into his wife’s Parsippany apartment. According to court document the clerk attacked his wife, pulling her hair, spitting in her face and throwing her against the floor, walls and furniture. The victim also told police that her husband had choked her until she passed out during a prior argument in July 2019. This after entering a court program for first-time offenders after being charged with owning a prohibited weapon.
Residents were outraged, “A known abuser has no place in any position of authority in government. The $120,000 a year we pay him doesn’t compare with the cost to our town’s conscience if he remains,” their petition stated.
Kazmark dismissed the petition and the position was “clerk will face no disciplinary action over the case and described it as a “marital problem that was worked out between a husband and a wife.”

If Mikkie Sherril wins. BIG IF. It’s not looking too good for her right about now but you never know and what could Kazmark possibly do if his ally gets elected. So he gets a great position and will hurt Ridgewood in some way as retaliation. That sounds like a serious stretch but you never know.
In 2019, while serving as the business administrator and municipal clerk for Elmwood Park, Kazmark filed a lawsuit claiming he faced harassment and retaliation. He alleged that former Mayor and other council members engaged in unethical behavior, including threatening borough employees and attempting to interfere in internal investigations.

Kazmark likes bullying people and trying to intimate them when they don’t fall in line. It is really not a professional way to behave and since when does anyone take their marching order from him unless they work for him.
My suggestion is that Mr. Kazmark get off of social media immediately. Keith Kazmark was campaign manager for Mayor Paul Vagianos assembly campaign. He was a hired help thena and he is a hired help now.
Paul Vagianos hired him at over 200k job plus benefits and a dedicated director of communications who travels with him to take his photos wherever he goes. Combined 350k expense for the village.

The way the board is acting is no surprise…it seems to be not only the NJ way but the way of those protecting liberal fiefdoms….I grew up in North Haledon but the Manchester school board was like this and to some extent the town council too….but now that I’m in NC, and I’ve seen that yea taxes don’t have to go up and yea we can balance the budget …it reminds me how corrupt NJ is!!

This behavior is not only short-sighted but deeply unbecoming of someone in a leadership position. Rather than seizing the opportunity to help and support tens of thousands, he has chosen to prioritize the interests of a select few.
