Ridgewood NJ, A Friday morning two-vehicle collision in downtown Ridgewood, New Jersey, resulted in one car striking a mixed-use commercial building on Chestnut Street.
The incident occurred on the morning of Friday, August 7, 2026, when two vehicles collided along Chestnut Street. The force of the impact propelled one of the involved vehicles off the roadway, coming to a stop against the front of a local building that houses a restaurant on the ground level and office space above.
No Injuries Reported, Damage Deemed Cosmetic
First responders from the Ridgewood Police Department and the Ridgewood Fire Department/EMS (FMBA Local 47) promptly arrived at the scene to secure the area and assess the situation.
Despite the dramatic nature of the crash:

No injuries were reported by drivers, passengers, or bystanders.

Structural assessments confirmed that damage to the building was purely cosmetic in nature.

Both vehicles sustained manageable damage and were driven away by their respective owners without requiring towing.
Law Enforcement Response & Summonses Issued
Following an on-scene investigation by the Ridgewood Police Department Patrol Division, an investigating officer issued two crash-related summonses.
