Glen Rock NJ, a Cure for the Empty Nest Syndrome: the kids are gone and you no longer have to coach, watch, mentor, or drive your children to and from activities. A once noisy house is so quiet that you can hear the ticking of the clock. Maybe it’s time to replace that tick-tock, tick-tock, with the sound of a pager – beep, beep, beep!

Joining the Glen Rock Volunteer Ambulance Corps (GRVAC) provides an opportunity to join a new family, connect with new people and become involved with a professional organization that prides itself for our excellent community services. Classes to become an Emergency Medical Technician will get you out of the house and provide you with valuable skills. Attending monthly drills and business meetings will get you involved with residents of all ages who come from all walks of life. Our members are high school students, young parents, nurses, attorneys, business owners, teachers, business owners and other professionals. And yes, empty nesters! Our members form lasting friendships – duty crews meet to have coffee, discuss the week’s events, do rig checks or just hang out together. Spouses, family members and friends, are always welcomed at our social events.
We can assure you that joining the GRVAC is one decision you will never regret!
For more information on our members, visit https://www.grvac.org/why-we-joined.html.

  1. I hope the people coming for me when I have a heart attack are not retirees looking for a hobby.
