Ridgewood NJ,  Since Governor Phil Murphy lifted his stay at home order, many businesses find themselves slowly starting to reopen. While barbershops and child care centers can soon resume operations, institutions like libraries have been overlooked and remain closed.

Assemblyman Christopher DePhillips wants to fix this oversight and is calling on Murphy to set a date for libraries to reopen, sooner than later.  With education being greatly impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, DePhillips is stressing the urgent need to reopen libraries.

“The impact the coronavirus pandemic has had on New Jersey’s children will make summer learning more important than ever,” said DePhillips (R-Bergen). “Libraries are vital in this process and are places where proper social distancing can be applied.  If we can walk the aisles of a supermarket, then we should be able to walk the aisles of a library.”
