Westwood NJ, according to Westwood Mayor Ray Arroyo there was a, “Great turnout for the Friends of the Westwood Library’s spring fundraiser! Two delightful hours filled with tasty samplings generously donated by some of The Hub’s finest epicureans!”
He continued , “Council member Beth Dell and I mingled with a wonderful mix of people gathered to support an essential institution that we in Westwood can all be proud of. We especially enjoyed meeting newer residents and neighbors, sharing the stories that led us all to Westwood, and trying to describe the unique, ineffable allure of this place, that had drawn us here. And as I listened to their personal journeys to make Westwood their home, I heard the echo of my family’s origination story.”
Mayor Arroyo summed up the evening , “Surrounded by books I recalled Mark Twain’s observation “History may not repeat…but it sure does rhyme.“ And some rhymes are worth preserving so the ones who come after can retell them as their own. Thank you to Library Director and the evening’s hostess Martha Urbiel, all the volunteer trustees who sit on the Library Board, the relentlessly supportive Friends of the Westwood Library, the local merchants who provided the libations and food, and to the ever-seeing eyes of local photographer Richard Frant for the photos shared here.
It was a memorable and successful evening.”
