Hackensack Firefighters Intervene In Scuffle at ShopRite on South River Street

Hackensack NJ, at approximately 4:20pm on November 8th , Hackensack firefighters demonstrated their unwavering commitment to public safety when they sprang into action during a recent incident at ShopRite located at 500 South River Street. While out on area familiarization, members of Hackensack Fire Department’s Engine Company 1 were flagged down to assist the store manager, who found himself in a heated argument with a disgruntled ex-boyfriend of one of his employees.

The female employee’s ex-boyfriend allegedly entered the store and engaged in a verbal altercation with her. Matters escalated when he attempted to follow her into the customer service office, forcibly pushing against the door. Recognizing the immediate threat to the safety of the store’s personnel, the store manager courageously intervened.
In a display of exceptional professionalism and quick thinking, the Hackensack firefighters responded swiftly. Upon being alerted to the incident, employees of ShopRite promptly dialed 9-1-1 to request assistance from the Hackensack Police Department. Meanwhile, the firefighters from Engine Company 1 immediately stepped in to de-escalate the situation and ensure the safety of all individuals involved. They skillfully intervened, effectively preventing any further harm or potential escalation of violence until the arrival of the Hackensack Police Department.
Once the immediate threat had been neutralized, the firefighters turned their attention to the store manager, ensuring his well-being and checking for any injuries sustained during the altercation. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries among the firefighters.
The Hackensack Police Department has initiated an investigation into the incident to gather more information and take appropriate action.

    1. And women think men’s assets are their property. The more conniving and duplicitous they are, the more the legal system is geared toward ensuring they receive the biggest jackpot possible. What’s your point again?
