Hasbrouck Heights NJ, the Hasbrouck Heights Fire Department was dispatched to the area of Route 46 over Route 17 following a report of a motor vehicle accident with possible entrapment. Chiefs 60, 61, and 62, along with The Squad and Engine 2, responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, units encountered a four-car accident stretching over 100 feet down the highway. Two of the vehicles were heavily damaged, necessitating the closure of the highway due to the extensive wreckage.
Due to the severity of injuries in two of the vehicles, firefighters employed Hurst tools to extricate the trapped occupants. Both patients were successfully freed and handed over to Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) teams before being transported to Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC).
The incident highlights the bravery and skill of the Hasbrouck Heights Fire Department in managing complex and dangerous rescue operations.
