Ridgewood NJ, Heather Mailander will resign as Village Manager upon appointment of a new Village Manager by the Village Council. Ms. Mailander will retain her position as the Village Clerk and the search for a new Village Manager will begin immediately . The announcement was not unexpected.

She was fired by the mayor and deputy mayor, who jointly floated some lame, bizarre, jackass excuse that they don’t want any Village employee holding dual job titles. Isn’t Bob Rooney CFO and Director of the parking utility? Isn’t Rich Calbi Director of Ridgewood Water and Director of Operations?

If your going to print this story, print the entire story. She didn’t resign she was asked to step down by the Mayor and deputy Mayor and given a raise to do so.
This was not a Council decision per councilwomen Reynolds, who said she knew nothing about it, Councilwomen Winograd said she recused herself from the decision and Councilman Weitz said nothing to defend the situation. It’s funny how the council attorney said nothing to defend the New Mayor and Deputy Mayor either, he just stared the mayor down.
She did not resign! Paul and Pam fired her without notifying all Council!
And then to praise her at the meeting was humiliating.
This is retribution for Heather questioning the validity of the One Village vote.
Cowardly and this will be the playbook of the 4 !
And let Pam explain how this was “perfectly legal”?
Why wasn’t this done at a closed meeting so everyone has a voice?

a thankless job. thought Heather did a nice job…sorry to see her go. she deservers better but ultimately may be happier vs having to deal with this ship of fools

understand the desire for add’l fields more so with the new field in GRock and the fact that most fighting for the larger field with permanent lights get to return back to their quiet homes on the other side of town once the game is over.
interesting to hear the public comments from both sides
those in the schedler neighborhood are frustrated for many reasons they debated back in 2017 when they thought the plan was set but are now being re-traded.
those in support of the larger soccer and baseball field with permanent lights disregard the concerns of those living in the schedler neighborhood who may see their quality of life and value of theirs homes decline. what were those same residents saying when the plan to expand Valley Hospital would have a similar impact on their neighborhood and home values .
one speaker mentioned Maple Park as a great comparative example yet neglected to mention that Maple Park is surrounded by dense wooded areas that both help privatize and reduce the noise level
the plan in place was scheduled to move fwd with completion this spring and summer so the “kids” could enjoy…but the re-trade will push this process back with countless council meetings, more expensive studies and further attempts by “Not for Profit” sports organizations which seem to have far too much cash on their balance sheets
Ok she didn’t resign, and if she didn’t, they would’ve fired her from that position which they can do when you’re up top, you’re in a pyramid of death. you have no protection no union ,see you.
That is so very true. All the top brass has no protection. They can be let go at any time. And that’s it and it’s time for a few more to go.
No more stipends. Period. We asked the last mayor and council to publicize who’s getting stipends, why are they receiving stipends, and what is the amount of the stipend they are receiving. And show everyone that you can actually do the job that you are receiving the stipend for. And guess what happened? No information came out. Why, what is the secret? What are they hiding. Well many of us are putting a stop to this.

The mayor and council are laughing their asses off right now, because they’re seeing who was the ass kisser‘s, you individuals make us sick. Time has come. I heard from a few today that village hall was so quiet and cold, you could’ve heard a pin drop.
