  1. Breaks

    1. Breaks?

  2. How do you break your ankle walking at Habernickel ?

    1. Steep Hill??, did you look at pictures or read write-up??

      1. Go hike at Camp Gaw.

If you go off the trail at Nickelhaber you will find lots of dog poop. Stay on the path.

The Peewee Pavilion is going to be a good water stop for dopey hikers!

        1. And healthbarn campers and field trips. I imagine ridgewood is paying a hefty insurance premium to allow a business with kids running amuck all day on public property for a private business profit. Look anything can happen and ridgewood tax payers are footing the bill for the success of this business and now a shelter for the campers

    2. He wasn’t walking, he was hiking, that’s how. Now that we’ve cleared that up, how is there hiking in IHP?

  3. Maybe they tripped over a rock or some unseen obstacle. You can easily break you ankle in many ways. Geesh, always a couple sarcastic comments.

  4. Why is it called “ Irene Habernickel Family Park”? It was not donated to the Village it was sold.

I think that Hillcrest Park will suffice.

    1. Please change the name. She did not donate she got millions for it

      1. The Habernickel’s got well over the assessed value for that property.

  5. Will Nan stop allowing the business to take all its field trips and campers hiking down there still? Groups of kids whose parents pay HB to be in the park will be able to sue Ridgewood if something happens to them outside the leased area. Thanks Nan and friends

  6. Ridgewood tax payers be ware if something were to happen to a paying customer of HB, a private business that is allowed to use the whole public park we can be sued I imagine.

  7. I saw 2 coyotes there last fall…right after sunset. They poop too.

    1. and a pavilion won’t protect from bears, coyotes and pouring rain

    2. the fox is around there all the time. I saw a bald eagle at the duck pond on Saturday (16th) too.

  8. I have lots of questions…hard to fathom why someone would hike at Habernickel, are you allowed to traipse through people’s backyards…?

    Was the hiker overweight ?
