Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, on July 11th at 11:00 PM the Ho-Ho-Kus Fire Department was dispatched to a MVC on Route 17 southbound at the Hollywood Avenue exit. Units arrived to find one vehicle into the woods on it’s side and heavily damaged with the driver trapped inside. The impact was so severe that the car’s engine and transmission were both detached and ejected away from the vehicle. Crews immediately went to work stabilizing the vehicle while an EMS team from Ho-Ho-Kus Ambulance Corps evaluated the victim. After cutting and removing the roof, one individual was extricated and packaged for transport to a local hospital. Fire Department members stood by while the vehicle was removed by a tow service and returned after approximately 90 minutes.
