Ridgewood NJ, The Village Council approved the funding and the proposal from Epic Management, Inc., to move forward with the Hudson Street parking garage. This will provide additional parking in the Central Business District for shoppers, diners, commuters, and employees.

The current timeline indicates that the Hudson Street parking lot will be closed down in June or July 2019, for about one year and should be completed by early spring 2020.

  1. Farewell Ridgewood. The age of concrete and crowding is about to start.

  2. The current lot will be closed for a year….holy smokes.

Construction estimates are never on time. This garage won’t get completed until summer if ‘21…

  3. Such a waste of money and effort – – Sorry council, but you really screwed up on this one.

  4. They screwed the pooch on this one ..Epic financial boondoggle ..will be the black hole of each years budget…except they can’t keep raising the Garages rates or utilization will plummet..solution they will soak taxpayers for endless start up deficit absorption,,rental car units on floors one and two..look at Ramsey route 17 transit Garage

  5. Worst mistake and they just keeping making them. The prior council started it and this VC is keeping the seat warm, they are no better. Develop, develop, develop spend spend spend. Next they will get their dirty hands ib the BOE budget and ther library

  6. Total mistake and what a time to lose parking. Downtown is rough now but everybody will be skirting it big time for a long time…possibly forever. Raising the rates and extending the hours on the parking meters failed once and could fail again, in which case residents will be holding the bag for this white elephant.

  7. IT’S A BIG FU TO RW RESIDENTS

  8. The effects of the garagemhala are already being seen. Parking rates are going up so we can fund this disasterous project. The only beneficiaries will be the out of towners who are building the apartment project across the way. Oh, and don’t let me forget the crinimals who revel in dark spaces. And I suppose the few landowners in downtown and their reals estate agents who will hope to profit from the overdevelopment.

This council has ceded control of the village to outsiders who profit by wanton building. I get it, council members and Mayor, it is a tough job. So quit and let someone else do the job. It will give you more time to go pose for political pictures.

  9. These are not mistakes. These are calculated steps taken by our realtor in chief. At the end of his term he will be another developer and set for life. We got cheated and screwed. I feel so dumb for putting signs for Voight, Knudsen, Sedon and most importantly Hache on my lawn. Never again I will vote to turn this place into a sh!thole.

  10. eagle is correct ..many of us have come to the same conclusion ….previous admin used as a straw man argument..as bad as they were..we expected a deserved a hell of a lot more for the Taxpapers..tip of iceberg now…
