Ridgewood NJ, The blog was mention by our buddy Rurik Halaby, and the council spoke on how uncivil everyone is. The best part was Gwenn who spoke about not believing everything people write on Facebook. I guess she is the only one people should believe ?

Rurik Halaby as we said ,took yet another swipe at The Ridgewood Blog during Wednesday night’s Village Council meeting when, during a public comment period, he publicly announced that he’d been named “Villian of the Year” by The Ridgewood Blog.

Of coarse it was OK for the head of the civility committee to characterize all residents at Village Council meetings as “Grand Standing”.

As for civility you live in a town where the Deputy Mayor makes threats in public meetings more than once, anyone who speaks his mind get harassed, anonymous emails get sent to peoples place of business and do not let us forget a physical assault took place at a council meeting , but yes the meanies on the blog are a tough bunch …

  1. Mr. Halaby, in his efforts to heap praise on the Mayor and his running mates, seems only to bolster the opinions of those that continue to question the Council majority’s motives and methods. As the saying goes, with friends like him, who needs enemies?

  2. Ms. Hauck was the best. Don’t believe anything you read on Facebook, but she posts on Facebook herself? So I guess we shouldn’t believe anything she writes? What a moron she is.

  3. Ms. Hauck not only posts on facebook CONSTANTLY, but she also writes nasty sarcastic stuff.

  4. She is building a coalitions with other candidates that are running so she can keep the majority vote and Queen Bee can keep her job. Watch out for any candidates who has ties with the 3 Amigos. Look for candidates that have been appoint to any boards or committees by these three. Such as the Financial Advisory Board

  5. 12:18pm, yup I heard the guy who spoke in favor of the walker report is running for the council. He sounded like VM’s follower. He was just saying yes man, yes man to everything she was saying from the dais, as if he was already working for her. There is no way these two Financial Advisory Committee members can be independent council members. They are being brought in just to agree with VM in everything.
Did anyone notice how VM was cutting Susan last night and telling the residents that she will work with Gwenn to come up with a solution for them?

  6. Let’s say their names. Janice Willett and Evan Weitz, now the chair through June 30. Scroll to 15-301:

What does it say under Financial Advisory Board (originally “Committee”) on the “improved” Village website? “Coming soon.” Note that the link erroneously calls the group a “Commission,” a different animal with different rules and laws.

Let us not forget that R. Sonenfeld was vice chairman of the group when it was still called the Financial Advisory Committee. From there she sprang to power as Village Manager, a position one hopes she will have held for a very short time.

Then there’s candidate Bob Hutton, who told the Ridgewood News in 2011, “One thing I would like to change in the village: I would introduce uniforms in our middle schools.”

  7. Just what we need another lawyer on the council to tell us how much they know.

  8. it,s all bull shit with these three bums.

  9. can,t wait for the vote. time to clean house from the top.

  10. 2:16 – Who are you referring to?

  11. Well Mr weitz should not be getting petitions signed at Willard science fair. No sir. Should t he know that?? But I guess Gwenn shouldn’t have been forcing the elderly to sign hers at the senior center either.

  12. You would think he would know the election law. I guess laws for other people. As far a seniors signing he petitions did they really know what they were signing. Maybe she told them it was for her bake sail

  13. ( Sale) Sorry

  14. Taking the “higher road” is well advised for all parties.
I am disappointed that so many comments are ANONYMOUS, while a name is required for posting,

  15. Not sure who else is running for council, but if you don’t have the needed 160 signatures by now, shouldn’t you take that as a sign the no one really wants you to run?

Who has gotten their signatures in? Who says they are running but hasn’t gotten their signatures in?

  16. Taking the “higher road” is well advised for all parties. When I want your advice I will ask you SE Roche. I have found in my long years on this earth that taking the HIGH ROAD give people another chance to screw you again.

  17. The unsubstantiated, unhappy comments above are designed (as usual) to further confuse the public and upset good people.

Ask any/all seniors that I spend time with if I have ever told them who to vote for, or if I have ever distributed any
campaign fliers to them. They will tell you the Truth.

It was Voight, Hache and Walsh campaigners who targeted senior citizens leaving my non-political luncheon at the last one
I would ever have (already a sad and poignant day for me) with their campaign literature as they boarded their senior bus.

I treat senior citizens as people, not as votes. I would not target senior citizens as a voting block, like they did.

A few days ago I refrained from commenting on the total fabrications written on the blog about who really behaved poorly during my luncheon, but the insults cannot go undefended when they just keep coming, and coming, and don’t relent.

You can bet that the anonymous comments posted on the Blog are ghost-written by the same mean and angry people – and worse than being unkind, they are also untrue.
