Saddle River NJ, Earlier this month, Mayor Albert Kurpis, aged 75, was sworn in for his third term, marking the occasion by administering the oath of office to his son, Jon Kurpis, who embarked on his first term as a councilman.
Jon, 46, previously held roles as the head of the borough’s landmark and environmental commissions, and as a member of its Planning Board.
Mayor Albert, a specialist in dental implants, noted the family tradition of civic engagement, attributing his son’s interest to his wife’s volunteer work with the disabled.
Jon, a Saddle River native, graduated from Ramsey High School, obtained a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers, pursued post-graduate studies in history at Oxford University, and presently manages a tech company.
