Ridgewood NJ, Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. From its Galveston, Texas origin in 1865, the observance of June 19th as the African American Emancipation Day .
General Order No. 3 transmitted the news of the Emancipation Proclamation to the residents of Texas and freed all remaining enslaved people in the state. The general order was issued by Union General Gordon Granger on June 19, 1865 at Ashton Villa upon arriving at Galveston, Texas, over a month after the formal end of the American Civil War and two years after the original issuance of the Emancipation Proclamation, the Democrats still didn’t want to give up their slaves.
The celebrations that followed the reading of the proclamation by General Gordon Granger began a tradition that has lasted for one hundred and fifty five years, and today is hosted in cities across America and beyond.
Juneteenth commemorates African American freedom and emphasizes education and achievement. Juneteenth is commemorative, not of the horrific institution our country embraced, but rather as a showcase of the strength in the American spirit to recognize wrong and set about making it right. Where Republican Abraham Lincoln and the Union Army defeated Jefferson Davis and slave owning Democrats of the Southern Confederacy . In this same spirit America moves ahead today in leveling playing fields and achieving ever greater equality. Let us celebrate all that Juneteenth teaches us about our country’s greatness of the heart to hear and to learn and to work together for all that is good and just.

I think we can all be thankful that we live in a country that fought a war that ended slavery and the ONLY example I know of in which 300,000 soldiers of a national government laid down their lives for the freedom of people of a different ethnicity than their own. It is truly a reason to celebrate Juneteenth as another example of American exceptionalism.

Democrats think Blacks are too weak or stupid to succeed in America without lowering the bar and providing additional help. Democrats treat the ENTIRE BLACK RACE the same as Special Education Students. They think they all need additional assistance to succeed in the world.

Republicans think that Blacks are smart and capable and able to compete and succeed as well as any White person. They hold all races to the same standard, unlike the Democrats.
Democrats think that Blacks are unable to compete and are not smart enough or strong enough to overcome adversity and NEED to be judged on a lesser scale, with assistance in order to succeed. It’s insulting and demeaning the way Democrats treat Blacks… This has NOT CHANGED since pre-civil war.

Oh really? Always? Freedom and liberty? Well, you can’t have one without the other, that won’t simply won’t do. Republicans fight for both. And by jolly when you become a Republican you join an ancient society of like-minded individuals who share the exact same morals, values, ethics and principles as every other Republican from the dawn of the party, throughout time, down to the present day. It’s very much akin to a baptism in which all of your sins are washed away and you awake into the perfection of Republicanism. You practically are Lincoln, and he is you, and me, and so we are all together, indivisible. 🙄
Both sides need to stop the virtue signaling. A simple Google search on causes of the Civil War and it’s easy to see slavery was not a primary reason. But i happily defer to someone with a history background.
