Saddle Brook NJ, on the morning of November 25, 2023 at approximately 6:30 am, the Saddle Brook Police Department received a report of a residential burglary on the north end of town.
The resident advised they were sleeping and woke to the sound of the front door closing. They went downstairs and discovered their white 2022 BMW X4 was stolen from the front of the home. The resident then contacted the police department.
Shortly after, officers responded to the residence and confirmed entry was made through the front window. Further investigation revealed the actor entered through the window, took the key fob from the kitchen area, exited through the front door, and stole the BMW.
The actor’s motive appears to have been to enter the residence to take the key fob and steal the BMW. The actor(s) did not attempt to search the house or have any contact with the homeowners.
Several other towns in Bergen County have also experienced similar incidents recently.
The Saddle Brook Police Department Detective Bureau will continue to communicate with other police jurisdictions. This case remains open and under investigation.
UPDATE: Police in Parsippany say three different residences in town were burglarized on Sunday. They say these burglaries also included vehicles that were stolen. The locations include Cherry Lane where a 2022 BMW X7 was stolen and on Sedgefield Drive where a 2022 BMW X7 was stolen. One arrest has been made in connection with a home burglary that involved a high-end car being stolen. The investigation into these incidents continues.
