Kudos to Ridgewood Streets Division pothole crews
PJ,
Your editorial (“Sinking feeling is settling in,” March 13, page A6) prompted me to telephone the village’s 24-hour “pothole hotline” to report several very bone-jarring potholes on South Irving Street in the vicinity of Cedar Avenue and Arden Court.
Within one hour of placing the call, I observed a two-person crew from the village’s Streets Division working feverishly and skillfully to fill each of the potholes that I had reported.
Thanks are in order to the management and worker bees of the Streets Division for having moved so quickly and professionally to address a report of serious, and potentially hazardous, roadway impediments.
This is a fine example of how quickly the wheels of municipal government can turn if a customer focused action plan is developed, implemented, and assigned to knowledgeable and highly motivated employees.

Our potholes were also fixed quickly. The Streets Division is a hard working crew!
yes I called too on thursday at 630am and the supervisor of streets was in the office at that time , I was shocked that I was able to talk to any one at that time about my problem in front of my home, well mr david norcia supervisor of the village street dep’t said he will have his crew take care of the problem in front of my home today in the am some time today. well they did show like he said and not only took care of me but the hole block was repaired. now glen wood ‘rd is pothole’s are repaired and safe , I would just like to say thank you to mr norcia and his crew of the street dept.
yours truly
mr. steven folly.
what a great guy . the village is lucky to have him. loved by all of us.
Fairway is in awful condition….
Boyd rocks !
hey call the office. they can not see every pot hole in town. if you call like i did it just may be fixed a bit faster.
boyd is a great guy . and smart. he should run for mayor.
The three amigos would get dysentery if Boyd runs for council.
OFF TOPIC . . . can someone explain to me how Project Graduation is raffling off a parking space on Heermance Place to a student for the next school year??? I am crazy or is that a public street?? I know that the public was booted in favor of “teacher only parking” but now they are raffling off a spot to a student to raise money for a party when I, a taxpayer, cannot park there??? HUH??? Something just smells here.
Great to see accountability and response times like this – we need more Village employees like Mr. David Norcia and his crew !
I do know in a town next to the village some one put a bid in around 1.500 for a parking space right in front of a school , but the space was in the lot of the school. not in the road. is the money for a good thing , I would hope so. if not they should not do this.
yes they do have a lot of work in front of them. all towns have roads that need road repair’s . I hope they put more money into the paving fund.
my god who is left with him. I know the street crew is down to 8 from 28 15years ago. I’m glad I left when I did a few years a go. what a shame ,
how do they do all the work that need’s to be done with only 9 man crew. this is not a small town like midland park.
good job men. your the best.
