Last Minute Building Repairs for Chris Christie Fund Raiser
July 3,2013
the staff of the Ridgewood with some help from our friends
Ridgewood NJ, East Ridgewood Avenue between Oak Street and Broad Street was closed to vehicular traffic for approximately 25 minutes on Tuesday morning in connection with fire department activity at 58 East Ridgewood Avenue, corner of Prospect Street.
The fire department appears to have been assisting with the repair of a roof mounted flagpole located on top of a privately owned building.
According to the Village Manager Ken Gabbert the issue of replacing the flag came up during a fire inspection of the building.

The suggestion was made for the use of a truck (FD or perhaps Signal) to check the cable so the flag could be put back in place.
This came to me July 1, via the property owner John Saraceno, Jr. and I asked the FD to advise if there was any activity that could assist with this effort. The owner agreed to any costs associated with the work. This was considered an if possible, request and subject to the plans of the FD.The FD was told to advise me of any costs associated with the work if it was possible.
The timing of the 4th of July Parade and the extensive work our crews have done on E. Ridgewood with tree trimming, general cleanup, and flags posting clearly was a factor. The flag and all of E. Ridgewood looks great.
The Chief has already sent a time charge and that will be paid by the property owner. The Chief advises the work was done in conjunction with a drill for the ladder truck- Fire Fighters Ladder Placement and Operations.

The biggest scam in Ridgewood during 2013 year to date!
12 public safety employees and 7 VOR motor vehicles tied up for almost 30 minutes and Mr. Saraceno gets a bill from Gabbert for $150.
What an insult to the men forced to work that assignment under orders from Gabbert, and an even bigger insult to Ridgewood’s taxpayers.
Biggest scam in Ridgewood?
…that would be the greek2Me concrete sidewalk divider/planter
At the time Manager Gabbert agreed to perform the work for Mr. Saraceno, was it known that the Village Council and Manager Gabbert were given complimentary tickets (reportedly valued at several hundred, if not thousand, dollars each) to the Christie fund raiser?
Sarracino has pull and money. He owns Paul Aronsohn. We are surprised by this?
I’m sure the Governor will remember the gracious residents here when it comes to State funds for various requests in the future. Quit bitching. These employees were on duty anyway. Would you rather see them doing the same drills at Graydon?
Are you serious? This was a private event on private property and it is outrageous that so much manpower went into putting up a flag that I am sure the governor even saw.
A politically well connected private property owner received benefit from the “drill” while other property owners on the street suffered business losses because of the “drill.” They should have drilled at Graydon, or someplace where business was not disrupted.
Were all the businesses on the closed streets compensated for the fact that no one could park on their block all day?
$2500, one has heard.
How do you know the bill was for $150? Let’s find out how much.
Paul Aronsohn at a Christie fundraiser? Even for free? Maybe to serve him a poisoned hors d’oeuvre.
The mayor is smart. Get a photo op with our next President of the United States.
P.S. Yes, the Ridgewood News article says $150! This can’t be true.

What is rogers deli?
#13 – It’s the Parkwood Deli & Pizza in Midland Park.
When George bush came to the village in the 1990’s his advance team said he might want to take a shower, needless to say the dilapidated bath and shower that there was no money to update got a complete overhaul. Amazing how the money was found, and it was the signal division that did the work, The funny thing is president Bush never came near the building he got back on the chopper and off he went but the cops got a new shower and freshly painted exercise room.
Sounds like an urban legend.
It’s well documented
Why should it cost a lot of money. Firefighters aren’t paid “by the job”. They are salaried and it was for a good cause
