Maywood NJ, late Sunday night, a severe two-car crash in Maywood left three people injured and caused significant structural damage to a house, according to Maywood Chief of Police Terence Kenny. The collision occurred at 11:31 p.m. at the intersection of E. Passaic Street and Elm Street.
Details of the Incident
The crash resulted in one of the vehicles losing control and crashing into a house, while the other vehicle struck a telephone pole. One of the cars rolled over, leading to one occupant being ejected from the vehicle. The house involved in the incident sustained notable structural damage, Kenny reported.
The Victims
The victims of the crash include:
- A 25-year-old woman from Bogota
- A 28-year-old man from Teaneck
- A 20-year-old man from Teaneck
All three were transported to Hackensack University Medical Center for treatment. One victim’s condition worsened overnight, but no further updates on their condition were available at the time of the report.
Emergency Response and Investigation
The Maywood Police Department, Maywood Fire Department, and Rochelle Park Police Department promptly responded to the scene. As of Monday morning, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Investigation Unit is assisting in the investigation to determine potential motor vehicle or criminal charges.
